RE: The Infrastructure Projects - Ciscokid - 12-05-2024 Colwick area would suit methinks. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - JollyLolly - 12-05-2024 My back garden would be great but would not really like 30K plus fans tramping all over my flower borders! RE: The Infrastructure Projects - Joe Baker Legend - 13-05-2024 The Athletic | Football @TheAthleticFC ????????? Nottingham Forest given chance to buy City Ground freehold for £10m by city council. Club are considering moving to out-of-town site in Toton but council want to restart talks over deal for freehold or long-term lease RE: The Infrastructure Projects - Forest1970 - 13-05-2024 (13-05-2024, 08:32 AM)Joe Baker Legend Wrote: The Athletic | Football Buy it I'd say. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - McDurban - 13-05-2024 Nottingham Forest are being offered the chance to buy the land where their stadium sits for a figure in the region of £10million, The Athletic can reveal. The freehold for the City Ground has been independently valued at £8m-£10m and its current owner, Nottingham City Council, says it would be “very happy” to try to negotiate a sale Speaking to The Athletic, the city council leader, David Mellen, confirmed there was an option available to Forest to buy the freehold “so the destiny (of the City Ground) will be in their own hands rather than having to negotiate with us as the landlord”. The conditions for such a deal would include potential add-ons if large-scale development took place on the site. Forest, it is understood, have previously offered £4m, without following that up in the current negotiations. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - optimistic_red - 13-05-2024 10m looks like a snip, and it means we can just get on with the plans rather than going back to beginning. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - McDurban - 13-05-2024 Just how do you build a 50 000 capacity stadium on the existing site without buying up properties around the ground? We don't need 50k. Why do you want 50k capacity? What’s suddenly wrong with the proposed 38K? £8-10m freehold and they are willing to negotiate, there a deal to be done to secure our future for the price of 1 year of Origi. Absolute no brainer, will be furious if we turn this down and will ask a lot of questions as to our new Chairman’s true motives. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - Hyperkoi - 13-05-2024 Tom made a point of stating that with few exceptions top half teams have 50k stadiums. I think the council are calling Forest bluff as they believe Forest want a new ground that encapsulates all extras like food and drink which currently they lose to surrounding businesses. The club needs to put their cards on the table soon. RE: The Infrastructure Projects - Paplane - 13-05-2024 I reckon EM probably sees the CG with a new stand as still being substandard, even after he's chucked £150m at it. And he'd have a point there imo. Say he chucked another £50m at the other 3 stands he'd be £200m down and still have a substandard, limited capacity stadium, when compared to other prem clubs. To compete in the top half of the Premier League, the club will need the revenues. Having a 50k seater is one of those expanded revenue streams. |
