RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ozzyten10 - 21-11-2019 Hopefully the club gets under his skin. I do think we finally have a decent manager / coach who is learning about NFFC. Even if we have a drop off I think we ne3d to show a bit of patience. We have afforded stready improvements to the owners - they need to do this to SL. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Mcforest - 22-11-2019 Get the Jan transfer window out of the way first and then if we are in a good position (We have more time to do it properly without added distractions) we can discuss a new contract. Don't want discussion distracting the squad and staff during what is the make or break period for new recruits and points. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 22-11-2019 If the reports of his attention to detail are correct, he probably wont want to be discussing a new contract until the summer. And I gather that Sabri hasn't yet brought his family over with him so if a new contract is offered, he'll have that difficult decision to make. Cant be easy deciding if to move your kids to a foreign country if you're always only ever 5 games from getting the sack. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 22-11-2019 What the hell is Sabri thinking about leaving his wife behind in France :exclamation:
RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 22-11-2019 If we did sack him, he'd get another job over here no prob IMO. He must be bloody mad! RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Alf - 24-11-2019 IMO we should sign him up for a longer term contract ASAP. In fact I've no idea why we are hesitating at all. Mental we'll chuck a 2 1/2 year contract & 25m at a overhype peice of disloyal **** like Kawanka, then Mouch has to cop the fallout of that with a 1 year contract, 11m worth of players sold, and a promotion push with cheapos, freebies & loans. What's to be gained by waiting until Jan? It's like watching the sad sod who says "play hard to get" sit at the bar until 2am whilst everyone else is cracking off & going home with the tidy bits of snatch obviously gagging for it. Very Marthur-esq stalling on a deal for Mouch. Nothing to be gained but the club stroking it's own power-ego. Sign him up. RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ThePromisedLand - 24-11-2019 Still the same question: How can we carp at coaches being fired after 3 or 4 months and yet demand someone be given an extended contract after the same period of time? Patience! RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - Alf - 24-11-2019 (24-11-2019, 02:59 PM)ThePromisedLand Wrote: Still the same question: Because the reality is other clubs will be pushing to sign Mouch unless we tie him down swiftly. Even then they still will, but we should at least make their job has difficult as possible. My question to you, is what's to be gained by stalling? RE: Your Thoughts On The Current Nottingham Forest Manager - ThePromisedLand - 24-11-2019 Who’s to say we don’t ( god forbid ) go on another December losing run? He’s won just 8 league games - let’s not get carried away. He may be the guy we’ve been looking for ( I sincerely hope he is ) but I would take a lot of convincing that other clubs are planning to snatch him after so few wins. Patience! The whole point is that, even if we do, we should have the bottle to stick with a manager for some time, rather than changing tact every 6 months. And it's not really the results which I'm basing things on, it's him as a manager/person & his footballing philosophies. He understands this league, he's done well with players he's mostly inherited & got the best from academy lads like Wozza + Cash + Yates, he's got naff all baggage, he's happy to work under a regime which loves to meddle & have it's input etc. etc. The chaps a perfect fit for the club and things are finally going for us. It's like waiting for Marthur to renew Morgan's contract. There's no point playing hardball when the chap you've got is doing the business so well. Patience for patience sake is pointless. I don't want to extend Mouch's contract coz I'm impatient, I want to do it because we won't land a better fit any time soon.
