Unless you have pace on the wings and a big striker teams get overrun in midfield in the modern game. Stick to either a regular 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. -Knockaert is our best attacking threat. He will be invaluable against the park the bus teams we usually struggle against. -McKenna is a future captain. The best centre back we’ve had in years. Commands the back line and bullies attackers. -slowly but surely we are beginning to click and regain confidence. Also agree, 442/4411 is Hughton's stock tactic, completely understandable he'd try and use it ASAP. Be interesting to see how he adapts now given how much better we looked after ditching it. I suspect rather than continue with 4231, he'll just go back to 4411 and bring Freeman back in for Grabban RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - ozzyten10 - 24-10-2020 Is there any difference between 4411 and 4231? RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - ozzyten10 - 24-10-2020 Wassy - game is about opinions but you only really disagreed about the fullbacks and arter! I was also on my second bottle of red when I wrote that!!! RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - optimistic_red - 24-10-2020 Was that the most boring Forest Derby game ever? Not sure how much more I can watch without fans, there is no atmosphere. More enjoyment watching a kick about down the park. Just doesnt compare. I honestly believe that if the fans had been in the ground last night roaring the lads on, we wouldve won that game RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - audiosmee - 24-10-2020 Ioannou was quite wasteful in possession and looked like the weak link in the defensive line- he was often too deep, nearly playing derby players inside a number of times. Happy to give him time though to settle. Same with Christie- think he and Lolley were suffering from not playing together much. Lolley looked a little short of ideas. Both Lolley and Ameobi cut inside, I’d have like to see them switch wings and play a bit more conventionally- particularly with Taylor and Grabban on. Both Yates and Arter were both too deep at the same time- more communication required. Did think Yates looked much better receiving the ball and moving it quicker, needs more confidence in playing into stokers feet. If both DCM are sitting then the Full backs need much more licence to push forward otherwise, as stated previously, there are huge gaps. Figs and McKenna looked solid but seemed to punt it forward a bit much- I’d like to see them drive in wiith the ball. More discipline required too- too many petty fouls from Ameobi and Taylor Work in progress and green shoots RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - ThePromisedLand - 24-10-2020 Still not seeing what folks see in Christie I’m afraid. Agree with What Tricky said ^ With almost 30,000 Red Dogs in the stadium we would have driven on after we equalised and won that match. Instead we equalised and it just went flat. It's not easy for the players, even Taylor mentioned it in his interview. RE: Nottingham Forest - Derby County - Joe Baker Legend - 24-10-2020 Can somebody explain why our goal was allowed, I am old School in offside matters. I have seen the Goal in slow motion, corner comes in, it hits a sheep player which then hit Yates in the head, the ball goes forward to Taylor, who to me is in an offside position, because it came off Yates, Taylor slots it between the goalies legs |
