Still seeing people trying to defend it, it’s bloody awful and we were lucky not to come in at HT worse off than we did!

Ok it was the sheep scum so it makes everything seem worse but....

Is anyone else starting to wonder if some of our great signings are actually not as good players as we thought they were?

A number of them have been woeful so far. Big reputations, lots of people getting excited about what an "upgrade" this or that player will be. So far most have looked like downgrades to me....

Dont like to name individuals especially early on, but we definitely miss Cash, last seasons Ribeiro, Worrall, Watson and last seasons Grabban.

Knockeart looked good though.

At least we retained the cup.

I’d add to that and say we miss a central midfielder who’s prepared to carry the ball forward.

People saying we signed one, allegedly getting close to 30k a week....early days, but the only one carrying it forward at all and getting into box was Yates...

It was interesting listening to Lyle Taylor interview as he held arter up for his leadership in the second half. Give him the captaincy. May be a bit of a blessing if Grabban injured. Taylor can get a run and gueirro may get a bench spot. I can see knockeart really being a key player.
Match ratings
Samba: 6 - went with wrong hand for free kick and had weight on wrong foot. But pod save and decent handling and kicking
Christie: 6 - he is athletic and has a good understanding with knockeart-
Figgs: 6- OK distribution was poor tonight
McKenna: 7- decent again
Ioannou: 5.5- not great tonight, more physicality than ribs but I wasn’t impressed by him
Yates: 7.5- MOM - frustrated that he didn’t score again but up and down. Sometimes looks laborious but some better passing today
Arter: 7- second half once he was captain played like one
Lolley: 5- I think a poor game as right winger - plenty of running as a 10 but little effect
Ameobi: 5.5 - looked knocked tonight, can’t understand why he wasn’t subbed- not his fault just looked knackered
Grabban: not a captain and not on form. Needs a rest for a few weeks
Taylor: started lively then went missing but scored against derby so alright in my book. Think he has a bit of arrogance about him like collymore. Think he’ll either be a twat or brilliant. Time will tell.
Knockeart: loved his performance and link up with Christie. I can tell a player when they make other look better. He will bust a hit for us I think. A Hughton favourite- more to come.

Hughton: 5 - Ibthink he was right to start with 442 and made the right change but was he forced? Should have put freeeman and mighten on after we scored to go for it in my view- but what do I know?

Ha I disagree with so many of these ratings.

Both figs and mckenna were guilty of aimless long balls.
Christie consistently gave the ball away and looked easily beatable, yet to be sold on him.
Ioannou, completely disagree think he looks a class player, strong, decent footwork, shame he can't cross but otherwise been impressed
Yates - agree although wish he was better at heading!
Arter - seems to be living up to the billing of Fulham fans so far, not sure what he brings to the team aside from experience perhaps. Sow would be interesting to see under CH.
Ameobi - looked threatening although a bit tired.
Lolley - anonymous
Grabban - seemed off the pace but not sure why everyone cares about him being captain. The modern captain does not have a big influence. Just not a big deal for me.
Knockaert.- already our best player, thats what its like to take a good corner!
Taylor - lively, gets in good areas, I would like to see him given an extended run so we can really see what we've got with him. Remember he didn't play since March so will be fighting for match fitness still.

Hughton - went with 2 up top as a lot wanted, got outtacticed but made the change at HT so very early and we were much improved. Fine by me, faded towards the end surprised their wasn't more changes too

Ioannou can't cross? That's his strong point!

Smith would have saved that free kick from Waghorn.

Havent read back on this thread so forgive me if this has been said earlier but what the hell was Hughton thinking playing a new formation 442 against the local rivals with probably just one day to work on the shape?

It was crazy. Imo he didint have the balls to drop Grabban and tried to accomodate him. It just didnt work, insread of having just an isolated Grabban we had an isolated front two. They weren't working as a pair, just two individual forwards. It just gave the sheep confidence and they grew into the game.

First black mark for CH in my book.

I suppose that is what happens when the manager doesn't have a pre-season and when there is not much time on the training ground to work with the players because we are playing every 3 days.

I am sure things will get better. 100% certain in fact but it will unfortunately take a little bit of time.
