Agree our final ball was poor too often, Lolley especially guilty and our corners awful too, what happened to Silva’s set piece taking? It was the one thing he could do right at the start of the season, improved every other area but now cant play a dead ball. Carv anonymous as was Adomah when he came on but all in all we have probably played worse and won eg vs Barnsley. Thought the very same myself. His set pieces was the only reason for picking him early on this season. That's a fair point, but it's that final ball problem which I think we needed them for. With Yates & Sow the pressure gets put back on to Cardiff more, and we'd force more errors from them IMO. Bully our way through rather than looking to craft it. More than 1 way to skin a cat as they say. Silva never stood a chance in the air, so many times the 2nd ball was a headed duel for Silva, which he lost. Yates would more often then not headed the ball 15 or 20 yards back up the pitch. Sometimes you fight fire with fire within the 90 mins.(01-12-2019, 12:31 AM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote:(01-12-2019, 12:16 AM)Alf Wrote: Yates or Sow start instead of Carvalho & we at least get a point from that today. RE: Nottingham Forest - Cardiff City - ozzyten10 - 01-12-2019 If Yates or sow playing then Cardiff don’t score. They would have been all over Mendes-Laing I n my opinion. Also carvalho went off too early and was the wrong sub. Lolley Ameobi and silva should have gone off before him and Mir should have come on earlier with carvalho behind the front 2. I was actually very mpressed with Mir who was very unlucky with the handball block. Yates. A massive miss vs Cardiff. His height, power and robust style. You need players like that in CM. Not midgets who can't head a ball. It cost the team at least a point yesterday. He'll reflect at length on his red card. But learn from it. Personally, I'm praying for the day Forest can put out Watson, Yates and Sow into the side to put the boot into 'Cardiff.' And by that I mean any side 'like that.' Fight fire with fire. And brute force blow them away. Force them to make the mistake. That's how the goal came from Cardiff. A bit of pressure, sustained and 'goal.' It will be a day long remembered. I can't wait. We know it's inevitable, right? SA. RE: Nottingham Forest - Cardiff City - Strawberry Avenger - 01-12-2019 Cardiff were fortune that the footballing fates conspired against Forest. I'd like to see Dawson, Yates, Sow back in the side. As soon as possible. And emergency reinforcements on the wing and up front as well. Possibly another midfield player with class and guile and the robust/experience to back it up. SA. But that 'muck and nettles' nemesis that still gift wraps teams like Cardiff (who haven't won away all season?) their 'duck.' I think we needed a Darryl Murphy or Dele Adebola more than an Colymore or Watkins. We needed some big muscle in the box with the number of crosses that were coming in. When there are 10 defenders in and around the box no amount of guile will get you in, just a mistake. What you need is a target man to meet the ball in the air then the wingers can focus on getting the ball to him. RE: Nottingham Forest - Cardiff City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 02-12-2019 I think we have only won once against Cardiff in our last 10 matches against them. Hope they don't climb the table and get into the play offs :@ RE: Nottingham Forest - Cardiff City - optimistic_red - 02-12-2019 Madine won virtually every header against Figueiredo, it gave them an out every time. Dirty b*stard, but effective. I think Carvalho was in the team so we could play through them, but we keep trying to go around. Could easily have won that several nil but wasn't our day. Not helped by ref letting them get away with challenge after challenge. |
