Im generally a mild mannered bloke but I was ready to run on the pitch and punch Madine as he went off. Horrible player playing for a horrible team representing a horrible club.

Not sure Cardiff were as bad as some are suggesting.
Harris is a perfect fit - they will be tough to beat & will upset a few fancied teams. They set out their stall to frustrate, pressed high up the pitch & challenged us to break them down. We were ok until we reached their box when the final ball consistently let us down. I remember - a good few years ago - playing at Edgar Street ( Hereford were in League 2 at the time ) and being impressed by a sign in the home dressing room stating that players would be fined if their cross didn’t beat the first man. How many fines - if that was in place at the CG - would’ve been dished out today?

Madine is normally one of the worst centre forwards in this league. Today he absolutely rinsed Figs. They defended really well and some of those shots that were blazed over the bar were chances. That said, they should have gone 2-0 up. Another similar type of game to "look forward" to next week. Deep joy.

The tactics were wrong regardless of the number of chances created.
Cardiff looked like they played with 15 players and we had no idea how to break them down. We just kept trying to shoot from range, rushing shots and possession. Lolley needs dropping, not resting, dropping.

Cardiff played as we did at Fulham, and in here was full of praise for our boys ... we just have to take it on the chin...if we learn from it might be acceptable but if we dont then, we r still in the same boat as previous seasons...once our play gets found out, we end up blaming the opposition instead of our choices of how to change tactics nd way of beating the opposition...

Chap to the press box timed the second half. Ball in play for just 28 minutes of the second half, plus two of the four added on. #nffc

Horrible team Cardiff
But we had too many poor performances today and our set piece delivery was horrendous. Carvalho is consistently a weak influence . We didn't trouble etheridge once . Cash's final ball today was poor and Silva's was extremely poor. Grabban got no service whatsoever . Semedo had a decent chance we have to hit the target atleast. Ameobi was terrible . We need better than adomah Coming on. We never looked like scoring to be honest. Lolley hwas poor again . Trying the glory shot all the time. Teams have him sussed their fullback were pointing him inside Disappointing day. Weekend ruined.

We weren't that bad and we did create chances, Cardiff are a horrible team but they got their tactics spot on. Agree our final ball was poor too often, Lolley especially guilty and our corners awful too, what happened to Silva’s set piece taking? It was the one thing he could do right at the start of the season, improved every other area but now cant play a dead ball. Carv anonymous as was Adomah when he came on but all in all we have probably played worse and won eg vs Barnsley.
Oh and if we ever for some reason end up signing Gary Madine I promise I will throw my season ticket in the Trent.

We look like a very good team .. most of the time. I thought Jack had a good, solid game, even in advanced positions he showed excellent composure and decision making, i only saw him make 1 unforced error. His curler was a quality chance and unlucky not to score. I'm going to find my post about the 'uewopdwipp's' or something similar. I've noticed it many games, unforced errors or poor decisions when in promising positions'. The team played well, very well, but the shooting and general final decisions were often poor and poorly executed.
Basically, i am not too concerned, (besides the fact it is almost december which often bodes badly for us over most seasons) but confident in the team and look forward to the next game.

Yates or Sow start instead of Carvalho & we at least get a point from that today.

It was the final ball missing, Lolley, Silva, Ameobi, Cash and the rest. And Sow and Yates are never creative players, dont see how either would have helped. You are just having a go at Carv for the sake of it now, I have said myself he was poor but thats not why we lost. |
