Do you really think that given how long I’ve been posting here and the issues I had with NG2 at the outset? Or just lashing out because EM is getting some deserved focus? I know that, in some respect, Marinakis' running of the club is a million miles away from Fawaz's - certainly in terms of paying bills on time, reputation with dealing with other clubs etc. However I do wonder if he shared a bit of Fawaz's naivety in how easy (or not as the case has been) to get out of the Championship. I mean, he's experienced pretty much constant success with Oly. RE: Discuss Daniel Taylor's Thoughts - Reds73 - 15-09-2021 Sometimes it’s the simple things. Look at the lack of TLC at the City Ground. No hot water in either BC or Bridgford stand. Sanitiser for last 2 home games has been empty before the mass public turned up. The toilets are dreadful, the well publicised bird crap, my seats are dirty and full of cob webs. The club don’t exactly greet you with open arms. Is this really too much to ask for ? I think they had the right man in Warburton. Closest thing I can think of in the league to the 'Forest Way.' Not so much promises but noble intentions. Ones that were clearly strayed from in subsequent appointments. But impatience got the better of them. We'd be doing Plan A and Plan B currently if we'd kept him. SA. RE: Discuss Daniel Taylor's Thoughts - Colnago - 15-09-2021 So he didn’t make any promises on anything? He just said he delivers ? If by delivers he means bottom of the league after years of investment then he certainly has delivered As others have said he deserves all the criticism coming his way, he is the captain of the ship, end of story! That doesn’t mean people want him gone they want to see improvement which we ve not seen RE: Discuss Daniel Taylor's Thoughts - Paplane - 15-09-2021 (15-09-2021, 03:03 PM)Sausage Roll Wrote:(15-09-2021, 02:35 PM)Reds73 Wrote: Surely you must be surprised though sniff, and EM must be livid that after spending over 100m in 4 years we are bottom of the championship. I think you're right, he might have thought getting a club like Forest back up from the 2nd division would be straightforward. A lot of football club owners have thought the same thing and become unstuck. I'm amazed there's still this desire to buy championship clubs. They're absolute money pits. And if you do actually get one to the prem, all the money generated goes out again on transfer fees and in players' pockets. Unless you're the Glaziers and making an absolute killing by flogging a club brand like Man Utd, what's the point? If by delivers he means bottom of the league after years of investment then he certainly has delivered But if all he sees, hears, reads is criticism, abuse and discontent then he'll bugger off. We've actually had that happen before not many years ago. The owner thought "bugger this why am I bothering", and we ended up with a clown as an owner. I'd prefer to stick with EM rather than take my chances with the nut jobs and venture capitalists that are circulating around the sheep. At least we know EM is a football man, is worth a few quid, spends his own money and has a social conscience. We could do a lot lot worse.
