Oh and he also confirmed what I had been saying that those Turkish journalist's were full of S**t.

Biggest criticism surprisingly was probably aimed at Hughton. Doesnt seem to rate him at all and cant see situation improving. Thinks club not “just sitting on their hands” about it.
The rumour about Chris Wilder was total nonsense - he doesnt like Alan Nixon does he?

Regarding Murphy he called it “a very strange set up” where you have a former CEO and current CEO working together but didnt go further.

As has been said he was fairly optimistic about our transfer window. That we seem to have a 20k salary ceiling in place was news to me. A Premier league striker turned us down because of that. Critical of past, Lyle Taylor took a few pelters.
Final offer for Buchanan was £1.3 plus add ons and nowhere near enough.

Lovely anecdotes at the end about Eusebio and Mourinho, both huge Clough fans.

20k salary cap is interesting, maybe we'll actually finally sort our finances out. Our best chance of going up in a parachute payments world is surely running low wages and relying on a group of academy players to peak at the same time.

As for Taylor, I've not listened but if as said above he was holding back then sounds like Dane has had a word IMO (wildly speculating). Reigning him back in and getting his support should be seen as a big plus for the new regime, whilst perhaps it means we hear slightly less of the goings on, it implies there's less to tell! Fingers crossed

Yep, the salary cap stopped us signing Keinan Davis (striker from Villa) as i had mentioned previously

Sounds like a positive to me. I wonder how many of our current squad are over this limit currently

Just listening to this now and, as Taylor says, we can't have it both ways I suppose.

RE: Daniel Taylor - Salvatore Matrecano - 08-09-2021

Far too many over that sum and not even getting on the pitch. Joe Worrall significantly under that amount and ought to get himself a new agent.

RE: Daniel Taylor - Sausage Roll - 08-09-2021

The scorn with which he discussed the 'PL clubs being envious of us having Hughton' bit in Randall's interview was pretty funny.

RE: Daniel Taylor - wassy04 - 08-09-2021

I'm just listening now, good to hear he said that Tim Vickery was praising Ojeda too. He knows his stuff when it comes to South American football

I think this post sums up Forest's malaise.

Pretenders on massive wages not on the pitch.  An Academy product and the guy that made the difference vs Derby on far less.

So, we're on the Brentford/Barnsely business model?

Anybody for a link for it? I haven't heard it yet.

RE: Daniel Taylor - Fumanchew - 08-09-2021

Imagine being 23 having scored 2 efl goals and 1 prem goal and thinking you should be paid more then 20k a week it’s this part of the game that I find worrying

Far too many?

Who are they.

I can think of only one, Grabban.

Possibly Jenkinson but I would imagine that his salary is performance related.

Surely Arter (yes I know he's out on loan but even so). Wouldn't be surprised if Taylor is too.
