They sorted that one out. Yates compared to one of the better players in world football over the past decade there. When young Ryan starts dribbling through a crowd of players and banging it in the top corner we’ll be fine. Until he leaves for Real Madrid. Now you are quoting 90 minutes, which wasnt what was originally stated in the comment about 4 times in 40 matches. Last season Ryan only played in 7 matches for the whole 90 minutes. 21 matches he either started or finished on the bench. In the 7 full matches he was involved in, we won 2 (actually 3 as he was subbed off after 88 minutes in the 1-0 win over Bristol City and his substitution could be seen as running down the clock). This season does look bad on him as he has played 11 times for the whole 90 minutes which have seen 1 win, 7 defeats and 3 draws. The two matches he came on from the bench we won both games (Coventry and Wycombe) So maybe the quote should have been we have only won 4 times over the past season and a bit when Yates has played the full 90 minutes, which is actually only 18 times not 40. RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - audiosmee - 29-11-2020 Can we do the same stats on say... Samba? Or should there be a similar agenda against him? I agree Audiosmee. Funnily enough I did start to look at Samba, but he has played virtually every game for us with no substitutions. It is such a shame that some feel the need to have a scapegoat in our team, and this is not a new thing. I remember as far back as the Miracle team, with John McGovern and John O'Hare getting flak endlessly (in fairness it was about right for O'Hare as he was poor). We have recently seen the same treatment of Danny Fox, Ben Osborn, Ben Watson and now Ryan Yates. No doubt there were others who I can't remember at this moment in time. Whilst it is fair to say none of the above were world class, they often did a good job for the side and put their bodies on the line and gave 100%. Yes, they all had mistakes in them, but so did many others, but didn't get the same amount of criticism for it. There are 11 players in a team, 16 if all 5 subs are used. How can it always be just about one player when the side loses? However, for your information the Brice Samba stats are below and for all competitions:- 2019/20 season. Played 42 games. Won 19, Drew 14 and lost 9. 15 clean sheets and conceded 41 = 1.02 goals per game 2020/21 season. Played 15 games. Won 3, Drew 3, lost 9. 2 clean sheets and conceded 18. = 1.2 goals per game The problem with stats like these do not tell the entire story and can be turned and twisted in which ever way somebody wants to use them. For example, Brice has let in 18 goals this season already, but how many were actually his fault? How many could he have done better with? How many were a result of an outfield players mistakes? The stats don't tell us that. They just tell us how many goals have been conceded in a period of time. I hate stats. I only used the Ryan Yates ones as an example of somebody spouting out bullshit stats about him to prove that the stats were bullshit. Whats that saying? Never let the truth get in the way of a good story? Sorry TPL, Tricky’s post was in relation to me asking if Samba’s WDL stats were like Yates’. I rate Yates, not so keen on Colback- completely agree that they can’t/shouldn’t play together. My view would be Yates over Colback. I think unfortunately, results as they are we are showing our limitations of a squad- they were there last season too but we got luck too. The ‘shithousery’ didn’t last and we got figured out. Hughton’s got a job on! RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Paplane - 30-11-2020 Steady on lads, this is not Vital. I come on here to read informed and intelligent debate, not arguments. I do however have the right to defend myself when someone wants to take a pop at me. I will however refrain from making any further comments, so as not to rock the boat and will delete my last comment. I hope TPL is man enough to do the same, seeing as he had a totally unnecessary pop at me. RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-11-2020 Agreed. Put the handbags away please chaps. RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-11-2020 There has been some good firey debate on here recently but there is no need for any falling out. RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-11-2020 Yes, to be fair to TPL I put the stats up but I did say that I wasn't sure if they were correct or not. RE: Nottingham Forest - Swansea City - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 30-11-2020 I've just had visions of Trickie's christmas tree going flying across the room :D |
