A bit like when Campbell was sold without consulting Dave Bassett.

Some owners just don't get it.  ('My ball...my ball...')

I feel that was decision that put us right here in the Championship.  I think you can trace our history for the last 20 years back to the Campbell decision and the Hoydong saga.  It did for any chances we had of staying up.  (Anybody would think we went up to the Premier as champions?  But no, the owners knew 'better' and didn't rate Kevin when he was doing all the donkey work for Pierre the Primadonna.)

was there really a need to get Pele in when we had yacob, guediora and bridcutt. i just dont get it.

Agree again ... the truth is, not only we are overloaded with average players, but to build a proper promotion winning team... I think we have to get rid of all ....
No sense asking to have Watson on the pitch to baby sit Yates !! .... or Yates is going to be ready to play in a promotion chasing team or he is not... Lolley apart, the midfield has to be rebuild if we are really serious about promotion ... defence we can get away with 50 %, the forward line we have only 30% of what we need, to really have a promotion chasing team/squad ...

The truth is we are overloaded with average players on above average wages.  (ie.  They're on good coin.)

When you take Grabban, Lolley out the equation (and half of that equation has been missing for a month and the results have mirrored that) our attacking threat is impotent.  It's a miracle MoN has Forest 3 points off the play offs.

The midfield.  £25 million and the midfield still isn't sorted.  Needs another winger (I'd say two prime time ones), an ACM (probably two) who CAN and two more strikers. 6 players. Just for the forward line.

Rebuild.  Again.

The old groundhog day.

IMO we shouldn’t be blocking the route of Appiah & Johnson by signing 2 wingers.

Appiah is mustard and it’s just a matter of when and not if where Arvin is concerned.

IMO taking midfield and forward line into consideration, we need 4 players

Winger
2 x Forward
Box to box midfielder

I’m not convinced that there is such a thing as a box to box midfielder at this level?

I suppose it depends on who leaves, there might be a surprising sale or two.

I would also definitely had a goalkeeper to the list.

RE: The 2019 Summer Clearout - wassy04 - 23-03-2019

For me in terms of first 11, we have the defence, two DMs (inc colback), left wing, striker and AM. So in terms of starters we need a keeper and a winger plus another striker to replace/play instead of carv and to sigh colback.

Then we just need to fill the holes that have cost us so badly this season. So a backup LB, backup striker, backup attacking midfielder and backup striker. So not loads of work, keeper/striker are most important for me

For me we don't need a backup keeper. That should be Pants or Steele. We need a new number one.

Yes.  Add a keeper (a no.1) to that list.

And another LB.

Do we need another RB?

I am sure Janko will be off so that will leave us with only Darikwa.

Is Richardson ready for the step up? Can anyone confirm?

Kenny burns thinks we will sell carvalho for 7-9mill

I think it was indicated that Richardson is on his way.  Development wise.

Perhaps he, Appiah and others will be given a full pre-season with the squad this Summer?

From Red73's post...it seems that we have a handful of 'golden generation' players who are most promising indeed.  How imminent they are is another matter.

I'd have thought that Appiah, at the least, will have a strong pre-season with the squad this Summer.  I suspect he won't be the only one after Yate's break through season.
