Given the choice of a new stadium in a new location somewhere in the city or staying at and developing the World Famous City Ground which one of the two options do you prefer?

Voted to stay. Leicester have done well since their move but for every Leicester there is a Sunderland, Coventry, Wigan etc.

I know our present location does have some drawbacks to the opportunities the WFCG offers, but with the right facilities in place (New stand along with a possible extension to the rear of the BC stand, I see no reason why the club cannot offer corporate hospitality for use during none match days. Add in the possibility of staging live events at the stadium also and the place can start earning its corn. But does losing out on having a Greggs open 7 days a week outweigh our history, location, iconic status (the ground not the club) etc?

Whilst having a stadium closer to the city centre does have some massive advantages, it also has disadvantages too. Trying to navigate through an already congested City Centre to get to the ground is bad enough with the stadium being down at Trent Bridge, but being a part of the City Centre will be an absolute nightmare. Don't forget that not all supporters actually live in Nottingham!

I have said it often, as have others, but for me, there is no sporting stadium that is more picturesque than the old girl.

My one change would be to kick the away fans out of the Bridgford End altogether, so we can generate louder singing and support to the side, as the Bridgford End does offer really good acoustics compared to other areas of the ground. Controversial? Just my opinion

That's a good point Jasper. A move does not guarantee us anything as you rightly said many clubs have moved into new stadiums and gone backwards as a club. Leicester on the other hand have done very well.

Voted go purely for selfish reasons. The current location is not ideal for public transport for us and the parking is terrible.

I wouldn't want the new place to be a cheapie stadium though like the sheep dip. Something a bit different, with some quality about the architecture.

It all depends where the stadium is relocated and if it is in the heart of the community it serves. Leicester’s new stadium is not far from the old one but isnt hemmed in on all sides from dilapidated housing, so its far better now. Everton are doing similar moving to a fantastic location by the riverside not far from the city centre.

The new stadiums that have failed by a large have been when some genius thinks its a great idea to build them next to a motorway junction (Bolton) or on a retail park (Coventry) thats miles from the traditional fan base, nowhere near a city centre so the only facilities nearby is some sterile purpose built Wetherspoons. Colchester is the most depressing new build I have seen, just off the A12 about 2 miles out of the town, lovely, who wants to hang around there for a few hours.

So build us a brilliant new stadium within walking distance of the City centre and some decent prematch pubs, that includes extra facilities and can generate revenue for the club, yes I am in.
Stick us out on an industrial estate off the M1, then definitely not.
For what is worth I dont think the Broadmarsh site is big enough and there would be too many objections to fans shouting at nice gentle shopping folk and marauding around slab square on a Saturday.

Voted to stay, but I would never be against the idea of moving if everything was right about it.

Basically what everyone else has said if it’s got a bit of character about it, good infrastructure, still in walking distance of the city centre and not in some soulless retail space then yeah let’s explore the option.

I’d be more than happy to stay where we are, but it’s not just the main stand that is looking tired.

From a selfish point of view could the new build be south of the city centre again that would be brilliant thanks.

I voted go, we will never see a new stand built at the City ground, so if we can move to a different location within the city limits with plenty of pubs near by, then I'm all for it, I really cannot see the big man spending the money on building a new stand if they won't give them the green light for the appartments etc.

The old Main stand is an embarrassment and is well past it's sell by date, so if we cannot rebuild it, then move and feck the council.

Also voted go... it’s a difficult decision. I Truly believe that staying where we are limits us. To be what the owner wants us to be we would have to buy the houses around the ground and knock them down. Never gonna happen.

However, I wouldn’t want some flat pack lifeless bowl ala derby, Leicester, Sunderland etc. They would have to go all out on something like Dortmund for it to be accepted by the fans.

We are Nottingham forest our history will be with us wherever we play our football. To create some truly magical memories in the future I think moving is the only option.

Sunderland are not in the 3rd division because of their stadium.

Aesthetics v Economics - you still can't beat the sight of the WFCG lit up for a night match as you cross over the trent ..... but to rise above the average you need the revenue to get the players etc that you need - tough choice but new if it is done well without losing too much of the tradition of allowing fans to gather with their friends prior to kick off and providing decent amenities inside.
