Thought it would be interesting to gauge the opinions of the forum on our manager situation. This poll is what you'd do if you were in charge. Not what you think will happen etc. No hiding behind Marinakis trigger finger.

I'm in the I don't think he is going to bring us good football but I can't judge him with the players we have and he did improve us and get us safe. So he deserves a fair chance to take us into next season and see where we go from there. Sacking him is not on my mind.

i'm bored of the whole thing, i hope it all works out for you guys i know you all really care alot and deserve something scintillating to happen, CH is a decent guy but they all were really, but I do warm to characters, mavericks, nutjobs as long as ultimately they can give a good interview and show some passion and sort of convince me he wants to grab the club by the scruff of the neck and knows how to sort it out.
Nobody at this club tells it how it is, so on that basis CH is a perfect fit, he's passive and boring just what the big fella needs, a say nowt of substance type

Bit shocked by this.
Why would we even think about getting rid of CH? Have you seen his record in The Championship? Especially his second season in charge. Give him his own player's and it's nailed on that things will be very different. I am not voting.

Voted for give him the season, stability is No.1 priority. Having said that my 2nd choice would be sack him now as being preferable to another mid season change and the inevitable write off that comes with that.
Think you might be over estimating our importance if you think EM is looking at this poll though!

I was joking of course, although I'm confident that they monitor social media etc for fan opinion on things. I also think particularly when in the stadiums again, if we as fans show we're behind CH then it'll give him a bit more time.

I think when we are back in the stadium most fans are wearily tolerant these days. There was no real calling for the head of ONeill, Karanka or even Warburton, a few boos at full time but nothing major. More than anything I think we have apathy, never seen more than when the entire stadium emptied at half time vs Sheff Wed last season.

There was actually a lot of support for Karanka tbf, however that was clearly behind the scenes issues with that one. I agree with the apathy part, there aren't too many grounds I've been to where I've thought the home fans really offer much extra to the team either to be fair. I do think ours could do more though, it's does generally take us scoring before the noise gets going. Hopefully post covid everyone will just be happy to be there, I do miss A Block.

I doubt that he will be looking at this poll, and if he did I doubt he would be swayed by it one way or the other. One thing which will sway his mind is the fact that he is four seasons into his ownership and so far it has cost him 184m. He now has a manager with a record of success in this division; he needs to stick with him. If not for the good of the Club then it is certainly for the good of his wealth.

I disagree with this attitude, why are you and others trying to abdicate responsibility. Just because EM makes the decisions doesn't mean he is swayed by fan opinion. I'm sick of fans hiding behind EM's record of sacking managers as an excuse to not back managers. (I can clearly see you are backing him here btw, that's not the point I'm making) The point is that by saying that you give others who want rid an excuse to be negative. |
