People keep posting Bens stats to try and prove he’s shit, your modern day football fan I guess. Anyway you’ve got to consider appearances from the bench, being played out of position and the facts he’s only bloody 19! They also keep saying we don’t have time to develop him, since when? But we have time to develop 3 Portuguese novices who have looked bang average? AK better being in a good replacement otherwise it’ll be bye bye.

I’ve seen a few mention that we had a £10m bid on deadline day but don’t believe this rumour to be true, where has it come from?

And Carvalho, Goncalves and Dias are obviously great talents hence their inclusion in Benfica and Monaco. Brereton obviously divides opinion. In mine he's shown very little to suggest he's going to be anything special. He's not a natural goalscorer and if our short term aim is to get promoted then we need goalscorers NOW, not wait 3 or 4 years for some to become one. Forest stand a better chance of promotion this season with Defoe in the side rather than BB; again, in my opinion.
And wherever he ends up playing football, the first thing he has to do is stop going down at every available opportunity

Veron was a great talent, doesn't mean they can cut it in the Champ or even a different country. Carby could eb the same.
For a 19 y/o, BB's already cut it half decent so far.

What's Brereton done in the Championship, REALLY?
And I do concede that he was played out of position a lot by Warburton. If promotion is our short term aim then we can't risk relying on the goals coming from BB

people develop at different rates.
harewood was poor at breretons age. eugen bopp was a class act. keith foy scored a goal in euro u16 final for Ireland, fast forward 10 years he was finished.
how many 19 year olds out there have lead the line for any senior team in all the pro divisions? would Brereton have been any worse than dias/soudani/cash/murphy v Birmingham?

But this takes us back to my earlier point. BB has done nothing (at least yet) to show that he is capable of leading the line this season and getting the goals needed for a promotion charge. And, while I agree that buying/loaning another striker is also a risk, someone like Defoe has proved that he is at least capable.

What I'm more concerned about is, are they going to bring in someone else, I can understand if Brereton pushed a move away, or even the club, but we really do need to bring in someone else.
Preferably someone that we haven't got to wait for them to gain match fitness first.

Fans and judging by what we've heard and seen the board want promotion, they expect Karanka to deliver it quickly or be sacked and then get angry and upset if he sells a player who he doesn't think can contribute to getting promotion in the time he has to do it. Can't have it both ways I'm afraid.
