Looking at the bigger picture regarding our right backs.
Darikwa - Suffered a very very serious injury just before the start of last seaon. Has he fully recovered, will he ever fully recover?
Jenkinson - Decent right back for the Championship in my opinion.
Gabriel - Possibly one for the future. We cannot expect him to be our regular right back this season. Probably needs to go out on loan and get some games and experience under his belt.
I am sorry but we DO need another right back.

That is even more reason to get another right back then.

I'm starting to have serious concerns over the ownership of the club. There seems to be zero strategy at all. Considering the sheer number of defensive players bought in to a team with one of the best defenses in the league last season. Also considering the lack of attacking threat bought in when we struggled for goals.
If sabri has been given full control then this will be the biggest mistake the owners could make. As has been said already, when he is sacked we have an aging squad on big wages. It will cripple us.
EM needs to take a serious look at what is going on here.

I think some are over reacting and insulting EM's intelligence. He knows how to run a football club. He will do it his way and only his way, not our way.
All of this just because we are interested in signing Christie. We sold our right back to Aston Villa, remember? We haven't signed a new one yet. Most have sadly crucified Gabriels 2 appearances so far, Jenkinson has been getting dogs abuse and written off as being useless ever since he walked through the door. Darikwa has had a terrible injury and may never be the same again. Does that ring any bells?
So we want to bring in a new right back with bags of Championship experience. Once again I am sure that is what people were crying out for not so long ago, experienced Championship players.
There is just no pleasing some.

This thread is about the overall strategy, not about bringing in Christie. On the face of it he is better than any of the 4 options we have there. Its the fact we now have 33 playes in the squad, many ageing and on high wages that concern me. And Soh apart none of the incomings will have any resale value.
The fact we spent £2M on a totally unsuitable right back last season is a good example of where we go wrong.

But that was last season. Are we now learning from our mistakes?
We are trying to put it right. I can't criticise anyone for that.
Last season Modesto was getting dogs abuse. Now he's been pushed to one side a bit and the manager is having more of a say.
Once again, are we now learning from our mistakes and trying to put things right?

Time will tell Sniffer. Yes I know I am being awkward, but Ive seen us buying bucketloads of mediocre crap for the last 21 years so can you blame me or anyone else?
As I have said before, you can make a good case for any of the incomings so far. We need to see if Sabri can find 11 out of these 33 players that can play as a team and get us near the top of the table.
