I wonder if he regrets not speaking to the players for so long.. I think some respect for the coach may have been lost especially during a time where they would have needed his support.

Hold on, who's decided that this was the wrong decision? The players were dead on their feet against Stoke, and some playing injured.

Or did he decide that the best thing was for everyone to get away from what will have been a massively intense period for the club?

The way this forum has turned away from Sabri is quite ridiculous. I thought we were better than that and could all see the long term benefit of having a stable manager with players who he wants there rather than who the last manager, or the manager before him wanted.
Clearly not.

The manner of missing the play-offs has hurt most forest fans, and has probably made the mind up of lots of fans. Every bad performance gives them more fuel and cements their belief that things are wrong, and he is the problem.
I hope that Sabri can turn things around, but it will take quite a bit to silence all the doubters.
The club have made their decision, and that is to stick with Sabri and back him. Now they have done that we should get behind him.
Sabri Lamouchi j'adore. Until Sabri I was never happy. We supported him when things were going well. Our support for him and the team now, is needed more than ever.

The thing is, if the club come on forums such as ours to gauge the feeling of the fan base then they're going to go away with a pretty clear message. It's just ridiculous, how everyone's prepared to cast him aside. We're the laughing stock of football the way we sack managers.

Are we better than wanting a winning football team????
I think it would be ridiculous to want otherwise. As with all fans, of course we were happy when we were winning and pushing the top end. If this was just a blip in form and a short term issue we would still be supporting the manager. However, this is not a recent issue. We are not winning (not even drawing) and we are not scoring. And most importantly the manager doesnt seem willing to change or move away from tactics that are not working.
Some still support the manager
Some want him gone.
The longer get this goes on the more will fall in to the latter.
Stability only works where the performances show hope. Inconsistency where performances are good some games and poor others offer hope moving forward. Playing well and losing offers hope moving forward and is something we can all get behind. But, again, the current performances (going back 8 months now) do not inspire hope and any form. We are playing terribly and losing and on top of that it's the most boring and negative style of football we have seen in a long time... dont give me the counter attacking shite because we haven't done that effectively since leeds at home.
Everyone is entitled to support the manager or want him gone. Doesnt mean we support the club any less if our opinions differ. We all see things differently.

Very good post, hard to disagree with any of that ^

Don't unhappy people speak more about it, one of the quirks of human nature. Maybe there is a silent majority in favour of giving him more time - is there a poll?

It's results that matter not artistic merit. If Sabri has an extended run this season where we don't win, even if the team are playing ok, he knows time will be up. However, he surely has some credit in the bank after getting us to our highest league position in 7 years. He did this whilst being appointed a few weeks before the start of the season and inheriting an unbalanced squad put together by at least 3 different managers.

Good idea. I have no clue how to put a poll up but if anyone can, lets do it. Say have it open for the next 24 hours to get a snapshot as to where we are today. Black and white question - Should Sabri be sacked, yes or no? (And no 'maybe if x y or z happens) .

How would you want to do it though?
Is it a straight yes or now as of now, this minute?
