Well that shits all over Blackett who I felt was alright. Certainly not to blame for why we lost.

No not saying he was, off the back four from last week maybe it was figs that needed to be dropped for Blackett? 

But then the main question is why did he make that choice? When did he make it? You’d hope in training all week when we’ve played team games he had Blackett at left back and didnt just decided it on the coach down last night.

Lacklustre.  Lacks energy.  Tempo.  Urgency from the off.

I hope recruitment have a ball player CM on the shopping list.  And a winger who is a class above what we have.

I don't think we can just keep signing more players. We've made some good signings and strengthened across the whole team. At some point we've got to actually get the good players we have, bossing the games as we should. We've all been wanting a player like colback, we got him, we've wanted a link up creative midfielder - we got a very good one in Freeman. Ameobi and Lolley should be able to create enough on the wings. And we've got two strikers who, with good service, should both be capable of scoring 15-20 goals

We have the players who should be able to a) perform better than this and B) win games.

We are shedding a cack load of money and have a decent depth of talent in the squad. We should be seeing the likes of Adomah ahead of da Costa. We should be seeing Jenkinson ahead of Gabriel. We have players who are not contributing when we play and players who are not given a chance.

At some point we actually need to play a system that plays to our strengths not try and simply limit the opposition

No.  Just one or two creative players who 'can.'  eg. that can supply a striker (next level winger...) and a ball playing CM.

How about signing a striker that can score from 4 yards out and 8 yards out respectively? 

Grabban missed so many similar opportunities after lockdown last season and nothing is ever said about that! But Worrall is still being blamed for us not reaching the play offs last season after his foul against Derby!!! Those misses cost us just as many points, if not more than Worralls foul did.

Maybe its time some of the supporting roles took a few more pops at goal instead of pandering to Grabbans needs a bit more often. Yes he did score 20 last season, I will accept that, but many times has he missed from close range? How many times have those misses cost us games? How many penalties has he missed over the past two years?

I am sick and tired of it being everybody elses fault that we arent winning matches. Its never the strikers fault.  But we are never gonna win if we dont score goals. Simples!

This isnt a pop at you BTW SA, you just happened to mention 'striker'. Sorry lad!

Grabban did score 20 last season.  So for him to miss that many is unusual.

The back line losing concentration, conceding last minute goals or 'Rabbit' ball watching is not unusual.  

Is what I'd say to that.  And we have brought in 2 more strikers...

But maybe a ball playing CM as opposed to playing two DCMs?  Maybe a 'Steve Hodge' style player who can get Forest going.  Because 1st half they didn't seem to get going at all.

And that 'Murphy' (or whatever name...'John Robertson' style...) winger that can get Grabban more chances to miss.  He will score eventually...

First league match last year, we played West Brom at home and lost 2:1. I genuinely felt like we deserved to win that game, I thought we were the better team that day and WB got lucky (that goal/cross mare). Plus we had Muric in goal!??!?!?! I could see us doing well in the league after that game (especially factoring in Samba between the sticks) and we did. Drew away at Leeds, then started winning games, doing well, playoff spots, even 2nd for a bit etc etc.

Fast forward to today, rubbish. This is not the same level of performance, with a better squad of players. I do not see how we are going to improve our results on a consistent basis.

Looking at the starting xi that day, with the exception of Cash, you would probably not swap any one else - perhaps Adomah for da Costa. I feel that both the team and squad is better now than it was at the start of last season, yet that performance was just dire.

I can accept losing, particularly away, but to ho down in such away is depressing. Compare today to the last time we played at QPR and try and think this club has moved forward

It's quite telling! 

I genuinely am part of the manager continuity crowd.... but I need to see evidence, even in losing, that given time the results will improve. Sadly I don't see that here

I feel Adomah should be getting more of a look in. He did alright for us in the first half the season and helped Cardiff do something we didn't by getting into the play offs. I'm not saying he is the answer and we will suddenly start smashing teams but I saw more from him than I have from Da Costa.

I fear it is because he was a lamouchi signing - he works hard but doesn't do much. This is why I'm not overly excited about the other new striker when I heard him say similar about him. Lamouchi certainly favours work rate over flair from what I can tell (perhaps rightly, I don't know)

Many times he leaves the full back exposed defensively, it’s often the DCM that drops in to cover.
