The manager who got us within a whisker of the play offs last season and hasn't even had one league game in charge yet this season.
He needs a couple of wins Sniff.
I am aware of that Pap but he can only get a couple of wins when the season starts properly next week. We haven't even played a league game yet since talks between EM and the owners ended.

I'd think it is more the approach and how he sets up than anything else, yes he nearly got a shot at the playoffs but If any forest fan takes off the rose tinted glasses and summarises how many games we actually enjoyed last season and you came away thinking wow, what a performance we really enjoyed watching that, we are going places, I'd say it would be less than 5. We were never convincing in any game other than Birmingham at home and QPR away.

Fulham away we were great, Derby at home we were very good, Leeds at home we were great, West Brom away we were excellent, Brentford away we mastered them. That is only the top teams.
Some very short memories on here.

A section of the fans who follow football clubs in this country don’t enjoy watching the sport of football.
The win against Leeds was one of the best home performances I can remember for many years. I really enjoyed it and for the first time in a decade I felt we were going places.
A poor performance is a poor performance, like yesterday, but there’s nothing wrong with the way he sets up. Italy won world cups playing that way. Nottingham Forest won an old fashioned league cup and a European cup playing that way.

Derby at home was a win, not a great performance, we barely troubled there keeper, we were actually better on the eye away at derby and only drew. There is the difference, that highlights exactly the point I am aking, with that style of football when you win it is ok as it 3 points even if you are not playing great football but lose or draw and it is dour.
We ranked bottom of the championship bar Luton and Charlton for shots on target in a whole season, let that sink in for the short memory.
Brentford away was not pleasing on the eye at all again my point about being entertained. Smash and grab with by all accounts a very lucky goal and samba time wasting after 23 minutes. Enthralling night that one.
We battle hard but can barely string a pass together in most games and try and nick it with an ultra defensive mindset so when you hang your hat on that style you live by the sword and die by it.

Not being funny here KR but if you are looking for all out entertainment then you should perhaps go to the theatre or something. Football is a results business and it's all about 3 points.
I thought Brentford away was a superb performance, a tactical masterclass, a complete football performance.

In 2020 we have had a string of poor performanes and results with the odd exception. We played well away at Derby. However our form since the turn of the year has been closer to a team getting relegated not promoted. This needs to change very quickly. We just don't seem able to keep the ball.

I watch a lot of football that I'm entertained by sniff just unfortunately not from the team I support and spend my hard earned money on to watch them home and away.
But thanks for pointing that out. Like I've said before far are too happy for mediocre, my personal traits are always strive for better, grab the bull by the horns and make things happen for yourself, rather than sit and wait and hope it happens.
If you like time wasting anti football as it is called that is your preference it certainly does not make for entertainment, and certainly did not achieve the objectives.
Honest question and honest answer without the rose tinted glasses on, what is your opinion on the fact we finished 3rd bottom on the shots on target statistics from last season? Do you honestly think that style will get you promoted out of this league when statistically through out the championship the goals scored column gets you out of this league?

Back in 1980 Alan Durban then Stoke manager when questioned about his teams negative play Came out with the famous line “If you want entertainment go and watch a bunch of clowns.” He was rightly ridiculed for that and it stands true today, you dont get promoted by playing negative football.
At times we did the perfect counter attacking master class Fulham away, Leeds home, Derby away excellent too for 95 mins. But too often we just held on by the skin of our teeth, I put the Brentford win in that category along with quite a few others, it seemed more poor finishing by the opposition that allowed a result rather us playing well. To deserve a win you control the flow of the game despite the opposition having pressure, the perfect version of this is how Atletico Madrid play. Before you say it we are in a different universe to them but thats what we should aspire too.
You wouldn’t call Atletico boring either because when they need to take the game to the opponents then they are ruthless and thats the problem with Forest under Sabri. We seem utterly clueless against teams that want to sit back and let us create something. Similarly we cant cope when being physically bullied which worries me a little. From the summer recruitment We should have good enough players now to be more offensive when necessary but we do seem in need of a but more height and strength across the team.
Ultimately winning games fans will put up with whatever the style. Not getting the rub of results but playing well Buys some time but only for so long. Not getting results and playing like yesterday then Sabri needs to turn things around very quickly indeed.

I disagree. A low goals conceded column is more important. As a general rule the teams with the best defences get promoted.
Other than I want all of our stats to be better don’t care much about the shots on target stat. The shots converted stat is more relevant, but the total points stat is what matters.

Most fans want their clubs to win football matches and be successful. That is what most fans find entertaining.
There seems to be some confusion between playing poorly and a poor set up. It doesn’t matter how a team sets up if the team plays poorly.
