Some comments are starting to leave facts behind now. For a start Britt sale was nothing to do with EM era, that was to keep us afloat after the Fawaz clusterfxxk, we would have been embargoed without it.
Second, profit and loss on transfer fees is NOT the issue with us, it is wages that are the problem, currently £28M/ year, 122% of total turnover. Wages are why we have to keep selling our young stars and why we have to stop buying rubbish like Bong (even though he was no fee)and wasting more on useless loans.

No, sorry TPL but I was a bit slow to press "Post reply". I was referring to Widdow's post:
" We simply haven’t got a recruitment policy, an Identity kit of the type of player we need for now and future."

He certainly is. Maybe he should start putting more effort into Forest instead of his first love Oly.

But its a fact that the EM ownership sold Britt. They came in in May 2017. Britt signed for Boro in July 2017. So it cant be said that it was nothing to do with EM. It may have been lined up by Fawaz' mob, but the transaction was done by EM.
Oh, and according to Swiss Ramble, our wages for the last financial year were 142% of turnover, up from 122% the year before! Yikes.

That is ridiculous.
Come on, we are better than that on this forum.
So what if EM is in profit on transfers? Does the money go into his pocket or what?
And what about all the debts that Fawaz left us with? Who had to pay all of those off?
We owed money to the tax man, money to agents, money to ex players, money to the caterers. The club was in a right bloody state. We didn't have a safety certificate for the ground!
Some people have some very short memories on this forum and you should be careful what you wish for.

I do appreciate he's sorted a lot of mess out.
but we had John Jay moore who also prepared to also sort the mess Faz left behind so i don't see EM as being this big saviour.
I firmly believe Karanka would have had us up by now had he been left to get in with it. The MON debacle still angers me also.

JJ More or whatever is name was was only interested in the developement around the ground. We had a lucky escape there.
Karanka walked just like he always does.
I didn't see any others willing to take the club on and to pick up the mess that Fawaz left.

Sell young talent and buy mediocre replacements?
Harsh...SA.
Last Summer and January are steep learning curves.
Need to pull their finger out this Summer.
It's August already.
Any Forest fan can tell you the spine of the team needs reinforcing for a wed/sat/wed schedule.

But now selling best players after nearly getting in play offs.
Did Leeds sell all their best players last season after failing, the answer is no and they spent £15m on Helder Costa alone
That was an owner who took over a badly run club a year after our big Greek took us on and look where they are now

Fosun took on Wolves and in 3 years took them to Europe and two top ten finishes in same time amount that Marinakis has been here
