Disagee. Its not an easy decision. If players only played when they were tip top then they'd all miss a lot of games. Samba was apparently half fit yesterday. The media were briefed that had the game been a play off game then he would've played.  If Sabri pulls off a promotion because he rested half fit players for the last 2 games then he'll be considered a genius. Its a tightrope hes walking.

I’m exaggerating of course - but the principle is right.

A fit player from back then would be considered half fit today though. (I loved seeing the picture last week of Jack Charlton from back in the day with his Leeds kit on and puffing away on a fag). So in Cloughy's day, a half fit player was probably ready to be hospitalised.

I'm not completely disagreeing. What I'm struggling to articulate is that players in Cloughy's time could probably get away with more. There's nowhere to hide now, what with all the sports science and what not and with the game being played by incredibly fit athletes. John Robertson, the truly greatest player to put on the Forest Shirt, wouldn't even fit in a kit today. Everything's relative of course. 

Oh and thinking of Cloughy, and yesterday's result, there was a manager who could take a team to a tough away fixture and sit on a game to get a draw.
