That will take him much longer than the players who were not injured.

I would be amazed if he plays this Sunday or even the following Saturday for that matter

Three months is a long time to recover from an injury that was allegedly week to week before the lockdown though.

I think its right to expect he would have recovered by now or confirmed that he will need surgery. Also only going to get match fit by playing!

Although at this point may as well try and ride it out till end of season and have surgery after that

The three month break would have been great for his recuperation, but would have done nothing for his fitness.

It takes far longer to get to a level of fitness after injury; that together with the insane amount of time the fit players have been allowed to get fit would slow him down even further.

8 games in 22 days now; I fully expect some more injuries

To other team's key players as well. It will be a very interesting run in. Lots of twist and turns as they say.

Our top 6 team perhaps doesn't have a top 6 squad.  Not for The Championship schedule.

not for 8 games in 22 days.

2 games a week is pushing it.  Nearly 3 games a week is injuries territory.

Absolutely SM. Finally we have hope!

He’s been training for last 2 weeks.
the issue is getting him match fit and then keeping him fit.

he needs to be managed through games so hopefully he is good to go if we get to play offs.

he won’t be able to play 2 games a week

Match fitness is the issue.  And trying to perform at a level your not fully fit for can put you back again.

He is a high impact player.  That comes with consequences.

If they can get a game a week out of him...

It depends when he re-started fitness training I guess. Bold prediction I reckon he starts this weekend...

(Based solely on the existence of that photo  :D)

Can I just give a bit of a shout out to Samba Sow? Perhaps he's benefitted in this recent run of playing against weaker sides but its hard to argue with the fact that when he plays we get more points. (If someone could do the stats that would be great)

Even yesterday someone on the match thread said we needed to get rid. Just because he doesn't offer much as an attacking threat, he's still very important. Makes so many interceptions which often start moves as well as break down opposition attacks.

Yes he is injury prone and if we do pull away from the relegation zone we should manage his game time. He does also sometimes do a silly tackle and get booked early in which case he's much less effective but still stats don't lie (I assume)

Sow is so important to our team. The stats back it up. Just look at the amount of points gained with him in the team and him not in the team.

We have our spine back now, Worrall, Sow and Grabban. We were robbed of that earlier in the season. We shouldn't underestimate it.

Amazing that anyone would even question it tbf. He is a real quality player on the ball and a top quality one off it. Occasionally looks a bit ungainly so must be the reason for this daft (imho) criticism. Not every player can look as fluent and aesthetically pleasing as Jonny Metgod (poetry in motion) but does not mean they aren't a class act-especially at this level.

You definitely would not want to be up against him in midfield.

Sow also looks like he's lost some weight, he actually looks fit for the first time since he's been here. Long may it continue.

I was thinking exactly that watching the game yesterday sniff.

It also looks like he's playing with more composure and not jumping into reckless tackles or getting in the face of the refs, which was guaranteeing him a yellow after 20 minutes. I wonder if that's Hughton's influence?

Id written him off as a liability a couple of months ago. He looks back to last year's level now, which was damn impressive.

I guess a lot if his improvement will come down to general fitness. Thats why I've not going to write off Freeman or Arter just yet. Probably Lolley too.
