That is not entirely true. We haven't lost every time Sow hasn't played. I do agree that Sow has a very impressive record at Forest but would they have won as much if he was paired with Yates? Could be but I believe that Watson and Sow complement each other perfectly and that is the reason why we have been so successful with Sow in the team. We seem to keep forgetting how good Watson actually is for the overall performance of the team but he unfortunately is not able to carry the whole midfield alone.

I would like to point out that I believe Silva has matured a lot as he slowly gets to grip with English football and I don't disregard the possibility that Watson and Silva could be quite effective as a midfield pairing. Moving Cash into the middle would weaken the side considerably as it would be like turning the best right back in the league into an average midfielder. We could simply not afford to do that. And btw, we did try Cash in the middle in one of the cup matches and as far as I remember that was not any great success.

So imo not all is lost if Sow is out but Forest cannot afford to loose both Sow and Watson. We need to have at least one of them available.

yes, Watson sits in behind him...but Forest have a mediocre record with Watson in the side and Sow out of it.

I see where you are coming from SA and I have been one of Sow's greatest admirers but I'm willing to bet quite a lot on Sow not being near as successful playing alongside Yates. I believe him and Watson are a near perfect pairing for the way Forest want to play.

He supposedly received a kick on the knee before the Wolves friendly but to be honest I am not totally convinced by that.

Neither am I, looking likely that we have seen the last of Watson in a garibaldi.

I have seen some photos from training today. I didn't see Watson or Sow on any of them.

But then again many of the other players weren't in those photos either. Clutching at straws I know.

Some quick maths for you.

With Sow we have 39 points from 18 games
Without Sow we have 22 points from 20 games

Over the season if he had played every game and assuming the same ppg we would have 82 points which would have us 9 points clear at the top of the Championship.

If he had not played at all and picked up the same ppg we would have 41 points putting us equal 21st and in the drop zone. Almost certainly would have cost Lamouchi his job too.

Flawed I know but food for thought.

But the club had a chance to sign a replacement in the January transfer window, but for some unknown reason they decided that Yates was an adequate replacement.........Yep I’m baffled too.
