Geddy

Did Aitor realise what sort of a player he had in Geddy? Used him sparingly last season and suddenly hes the focus of our midfield.

If that 60+ yarder would've gone in last night, Geddy would've become an instant legend down at TWFCG.

I would've watched that goal every single day before i went to work to put me in a good frame of mind!!

Gueddy had a real swagger about his play yesterday. Willing to turn, take a man on and play the ball forward from tight situations and get the team on the front foot. For far too long we have been too predictable in the centre of the park but if he keeps this up that will be a thing of the past.

I know it's a cliche, but if Guedioura plays like that all season it really will be like a new signing. I wasn't sure when we brought him back, but he seems to have worked his ass off in pre-season and it's certainly showing so far with two MOTM displays.

He was magnificent last night and he and Colback look a fantastic partnership in midfield.

I think all of us thought he would struggle to make match day squads. he's the first name on the team sheet now for me. outstanding display.

At the back end of last season he was not match fit and he was lacking a bit of confidence.

Now he looks as fit as a fiddle and he has his swagger back.

It also helps of course that he is now surrounded by a much better class of player.

Gueddy has been absolutely top class, was great against Bournemouth and Bristol city then went up a level again last night, if he keeps this level wow were in for a great season.

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned this.

It would have been one of, if not the best goal ever seen at the City Ground.

If Ronaldo had done what Geddy did last night then they would be showing it every hour on every sport channel for a week.

Duncan, I think youve hit the nail on the head by mentioning the quality of those around but Id like to add that Karanka deserves credit too. I cannot pinpoint exactly what it is, perhaps how he pushes the players for intensity? maybe the system he's using? pre season? Hes done the rounds club wise but I think he feels comfortable at the CG and there is so much positivity around the place at the moment, its must be difficult not to feel lifted.

At 32 I dont think there's any danger someone will come along and take him from us but it really does feel like we've signed a brilliant player. Just hope he can maintain it.

Aye.  Two(!) MoM displays.  A player reborn in fitness and confidence.

The partnership with Colback is promising.

One goal a screamer.

Just wish the 'Worldy' had gone in.

Did say pre-season Watson would struggle to get in and Colback & Gueddy would be the pairing.

Gueddy been MOM both games so far.

He's been our best player by far.
