Season 2019/20 Can We Finally Go Up?

I keep believing ok, but what are we doing to solve the issues? ... in November nd December we were saying  that January cannot come quicker ...January came and gone ... and our weak point weren't addressed...even by playing certain players in certain positions when we already know that its not working. 
By keep asking the same questions to the same people you will only get the same answers...by playing the same people in the same position you will get the same result...to date we were lucky that the defence was playing above average, once the defence ( nd here I dont mean the back five, but the whole defensive set up) doesn't work, we r done ... I think I said it already, no chance of us winning games 4-3 or even 3-2 ... we dont have it in the team to score that amount of goals...in one game

Arsenal once famously won the league title by winning every game 1-0. Our glory days were built on grinding out tight wins with a strong defence for the most part. Plenty teams still do that now and we can do the same, No reason to think our defence has suddenly imploded. We still only have one defeat against a top 6 side and that gives me hope.

SM, I'm a bit jealous of your optimism and genuinely hope that you're right but I keep slipping back into reality. I remember BC saying that letting the opposition have the ball was sacrilegious. In fact he repeats that before each home game on the big screen. His team scored lots of goals with Woodcock, Withe, Robertson, Francis et al along with contributions from midfield and the back 4. To support your case I also remember BD and the sheep gaining promotion mostly with 1-0s but that ended badly. I remain hopeful but our squad is weaker than it needed to be after very poor recruitment and I remain unconvinced about our playing strategy at home.

I take hope from the fact that Preston and Bristol City don't seem capable of any kind of consistentcy. Some will say neither are we but we have the five point cushion not them. Plus Bristol and Preston play eachother on the last day.

Not trying to be funny here but If we have to play some of our remaining home games behind closed doors because of Coronavirus it might help our chances of going up.

I would much sooner have our sticky patch now than in the last few games of the season. Would be good to go into the play-offs in good form and carry it on for 3 games. Still remember the Blackpool season where they made a late run into the play-offs and their confidence carried them through.

Now that it looks like automatic promotion is beyond us, I think it is important that we finish 5th or 6th so that the second leg is played away from home.

We can then shut up shop in the first game and totally bamboozle the opposition

The following season it was us that made a late push for the play offs and pipped the place from Leeds ... result ... we got beat by Swansea ... so knowing Forest if doesn't matter if we are the form team of not ... somehow we'll ruin it...

We shouldn't potentially underestimate the importance of that ^

It ensures that either Bristol City or Preston or both will drop points on the last day.
