Season 2019/20 Can We Finally Go Up?

I'll start to believe we can go up the day we produce goals and performances like Brentford today. They're 4 nil up after 75 minutes against a side that beat us by the same score at our place. We don't look remotely capable of scoring more than 2 unless the opposition is useless. I may be old fashioned but every time we start at home with one striker I'm completely baffled and very pissed off.

Is that the same Brentford we did the double over Ciscokid  :P

Have Forest scored the least out of the top 6?

Have Forest scored the least (at home) out of the top 20 teams in the Championship?

Can Forest go up without Sow?

I don't think so.

Losing Silva for a while won't help either.  

Lewis has done well on 17 goals.  But, for the life of me.  Having one senior striker all season long was a fault line of recruitment.  

The home form has cost Forest the autos.  It may end up costing them a top 6 place.

Leeds ten points clear now.  We're not catching them now.  Unlikely.  We had our 'moments in time.'  And blew each one of them with the same 'hair line fracture' in the team.

The top 6 is still very much on.  But that comes with a caveat.  Can Forest hang in the top 6 until Sow is fit again?

The run without him in the team suggests not.

I think The Coach said the team had reached their physical limit.  (2 games in four days, was it?)  And probably over the course of a season.  There are limits to having a 'small squad' in that the players get pushed or thrashed.

In some ways we've been lucky with injuries.  And in others, not lucky enough.

Sow being out.  A hammer blow.  The 'coming into form' Silva.  An upper cut.  And the nursing of an injury to Lewis?  A technical K.O?

8 days off.  And I'm hoping that Forest can recharge their batteries with some light on the horizon for Sow.  An ETA for Silva.  And the rest helping Lewis to re-capture some of his form.

They're all 1st team regulars.  Our chances rest with getting them fit and keeping them fit for 9 matches.

Huddersfield scored 56 goals the season they got promoted via the playoffs and finished the season with a -2 goal difference. 

Their top scorer that season scored 12 goals.

Win lose or draw our season was never going to be decided last night and win lose or draw at Sheffield Wednesday it won't be decided then either. Still all to play for.

It's a funny old game Football. After Sheffield Wednesday mullered us at the CG we went on a really good run straight after. Wednesday however have been on a dreadful run since they mullered us.

Lots of twists and turns still to come.

Sniff I always loved your optimism,  rewind a year and I think the same words used to be said by Martin O Neil ...until we mathematically were out of it ... r we going to continue behaving like the ostrich nd say that nothing is lost in January, or in February or in March or after throwing points away against poor or average teams ?

SA, you r just quoting, but to be honest , for me it's all bullshit nd excuses. Earlier in the year, we had our saturday game postponed due to a waterlogged pitch...what happened in our following game, when we were supposed to be more rested then the opposition? ... the tiring thing might have been an excuse for thd Millwall game but what about the Boro game? We were the team supposedly the freshest and against a team that could didnt score two goals for months...we fell to pieces nd if it wasnt for an out of the blues goal, we were going to lose that game too...
What I m saying is, I m on the fence nd remain until May ... if we make the play offs then I day we improved from last year, if we end up 7th ...then I m sorry but for me that is standing still...

There is a time for that Malta but now is not the time while we are still right in the thick of the action. Come thee end of the season and if it ends in disappointment then we will have it out on this forum. Until then lets keep believing.

Duncan .. I keep believing ok, but what are we doing to solve the issues? ... in November nd December we were saying  that January cannot come quicker ...January came and gone ... and our weak point weren't addressed...even by playing certain players in certain positions when we already know that its not working. 
By keep asking the same questions to the same people you will only get the same answers...by playing the same people in the same position you will get the same result...to date we were lucky that the defence was playing above average, once the defence ( nd here I dont mean the back five, but the whole defensive set up) doesn't work, we r done ... I think I said it already, no chance of us winning games 4-3 or even 3-2 ... we dont have it in the team to score that amount of goals...in one game

Can we just leave the inquest until the end of the season. It seems inappropriate now when we have a five point cushion in the play offs.
