If Grabban is fit and we have Walker on the bench then what is the rush to get Da Costa straight into the team at West Brom?
Give the bloke a chance for christ sake, he's only had 20 minutes in a red shirt.
Thing is Sniff we don't have time to let them settle. We lost against Charlton, and we can't afford to be doing so if we wanna guarentee promotion.
We shouldn't be signing players in Jan who need to settle & get up to speed. We should be signing players like Hogan, Robinson, Grosicki etc. who can slot straight in and take us up another level.
I've nowt against him as an individual, I'm criticizing the strategy of spending 2m on a player who might not be up to the task in hand this season.
I''m very conscious of Lamouchi's short contract, & the likes of Cash being targeted, and would have liked us to make the most of this current setup, as it's likely to be picked apart in the Summer if we don't go up.

We DO have time to let him settle if Grabban and Walker are fit. We are not going to play with 3 strikers.
Da Costa hadn't played too much football leading up to his transfer and he needed to get some minutes in his legs. I really can't see what the problem is bud.
For the record we tried to sign Grosicki but HE chose West Brom, Hogan was dog shit at Villa and was Robinson even available?

That's been proven wrong already mate. We lost 3pts to Charlton and could have got something had we signed a better striker who could have finished the chances Walker got.
To me it's recruitment's job to consider if these players have played much game time too. It's all part of role.
Sheff U were wanting to loan out Robinson since the start of the window. I don't expect us to sign all these players, but we constantly fail at getting any of them.
Carvalho, Jenks, Da Costa, Soudani - 20m worth of signings there. Can you hand on heart honestly say you wouldn't take that money back & do Jan's window all over again if you had chance?
Coz I most certainly would.

We will never know the answer to that Alf. Even if Grabban would have played it would not have guaranteed that we beat Charlton.

Right, lets put this to bed now.
Samba - Brilliant.
Ribeiro - Brilliant.
Sow - Brilliant.
Silva - Good.
Ameobi - Good.
Semedo - Not had a proper run in the side yet, can't decide.
Jenkinson - Not had a proper run in the side yet, can't decide.

Things to build on for next season even if we don't go up.
Samba, SOW, Rib' having that bit of extra class you need to get out this division.
Silva and Ameobi have been decent.
Add to that Cash, Worrall, Fig' and Grabban.
Forest are a decent side.
Just need another couple of 'pivotal' players to send them 'over the top.'
Beaten Brentford. Beaten Leeds. Drew with WBA despite the ref's best efforts.

Samba Brilliant
Ribeiro wasnt sure at first but really impressed tough little bugger
Sow Brilliant, inspired signing to dig him up from nowhere
Silva Decent and improving but think other top sides have better than him
Ameobi very Good if frustrating at times
Semedo had plenty of chances and isnt improving
Jenkinson Bits Ive seen are awful and a complete biscuit to boot, awful signing
Diakhaby Not seen anything from him that shows potential yet
Bong wont judge him on one game, lets say he needs to get fit
Da Costa no idea yet here’s hoping he will deliver.
Muric waste of a big loan fee
Adomah recruitment team should have realised his legs have gone
Bostock If he cant even make the bench what was the point
Mir Dont start me

Check the Semedo thread, he was being lauded earlier in the season, since he picked up his back injury he has had only bit parts to play and has not had a run in the side. Can we at least try to be fair and not harsh for the sake of being harsh.

The trouble with most these signings is that they're not well rounded enough to contribute significantly enough.
Semedo is positionally bad & we look vulnerable when he plays. He's OK for the odd goal, and does the odd thing well, but over 90min he's more of a liability than a boon IMO
Sow gets hailed as spectacular, but he's only played half the games this season. Compare that to Watson who has played most games and played most games well too. Sow's ability is great, but if it's only making a difference in half the games as an around signing to me that's not all that hot a signing.
Thought Adama looked poor today.
