I believe so many changes was a bad decision and one he has already been burned by so have to pull him up on that. I don't think he is accountable for recruitment. Certainly still best manger we've had for a long while and I suspect ppl are very emotive due to the high last Saturday !

So much for my call for people to keep a level head. Waste of breath.
Panic on the streets of London

Whilst staying calm I can't help being really disappointed in our transfer dealings in January. Before the window I and many others said that we had a great chance and so should bring in a couple of high quality players. It would've been a statement of belief as well as intelligent management. We didn't instead a mix of covering squad players arrived. I suspect that Sabri had little to with the choices. Last night showed the consequence. Still on though for Wembley in May?

I am sure Forest were doing their own version of ITV's " The Masked Singer" at the City Ground last night, and I worked out who all of them were...
Marco Pascola performing as Samba Gino Padula performing as Jenkinson Danny Cullip performing as Worrall Andy Melville performing as Figueiredo Danny sonner performing as Watson Gary Jones performing as Yates Kevin James performing as Lolly Djamel Abdoun performing as Silva Nicolau Dumitru of course was performing as Diakhaby Eugene Dadi performing as Walker Rafik Djebbour performing as Da Costa Nicky Eaden performing as Cash Gary Megson performing as Semedo And the obvious winner - Bong - a lame donkey ready for the glue factory I think the whole crowd were shouting take it off, take it off! And of course it was Philippe Montanier performing as Sabri Lamouchi Of course Sabir did make the mistake making all those changes and put even more pressure on himself to put out a team on Saturday to beat West Brom. For me thought, the biggest mistake was the missed chance to improve the team / squad in January. Clearly the players brought in last month are not good enough, it was more a case of quantity rather than quality, and now we have to hope the players can pick themselves up for WBA and put things right and make sure we can keep the first 11 fit for the last 14 games, as the back-up is shocking. COYR!
Everyone is entitled to my opinion - COYR :)

the amount of wasted passes and hoofs out last night surprised me - there were times when we looked like we had never played together. Listening to the radio on the way back they made a good point that the players would only have had one training session together before the game to prepare for the new lineup.
Obviously three changes were enforced (and hopefully all three will be back for Saturday) but that being the case Sabri should never have changed the full backs as well. As well as Lolley played, I thought he was at fault for the goal - waiting for the ball to reach him before the centre back nipped in. Their centre back bossed their defence and we could not find a way passed him (he was massive !). We looked more attacking when Cash came on but the final ball nearly every time was terrible. Such a wasted opportunity...
Here we go.....

Was angry / deflated / stunned by the team selection & performance last night. Thought I’d sleep on it & hopefully feel better about it today.
I don’t.
I’m being over-dramatic, but that’s how much I think last night has cost us. Saturday’s momentum has gone. He’s got to build them up again. I can only imagine the dressing room atmosphere last night… A loss or a point on Sat will make last night even worse. But despite last night, I do think Sabri will do what's needed to pick them up & as always, COME ON YOU REDS!!!

Good post I was a little concerned with the lack of responsibility- we seem to not like to play a pass into a midfielder if he has less than 5yrds free space. The CB and Watson dropping back didnt seem to want to play into feet in the centre rather looking into channels or to the full backs- whether not trusting teammates or there being nothing on. I actually thought Silva and Yates did ok but there was never any movement or willingness to recieve the ball which meant offensively we were stunted. I'd like to see Walker want it more- the ball, to chase the defender. He had some good touches but isolated himself by seemingly not being desperate to get into positions to receive the ball. The full backs- less said. How poor were both? Jenkinson was pedestrian, didnt look to close the wingers quickly enough. Bong looked like he hadn't played in a while and seemed not to know Forest play in Red. Diakahby looks a confidence player without confidence- we can't afford to nuture him at the mo. He may come good but i think cameo appearances off the bench when a team is tiring should be his lot. I think our defensive organisation has meant the freedom for offensive fluidity is lacking

In the defence of the manager/team as there's been a lot of anger.
- Conditions were clearly having an impact as there were a lot of over hit passes from both sides where they weren't expecting it. Probably affected jenkinson mid hit pass for goal too - sow, Ameobi & grabban were probably injured otherwise they would've surely made bench particularly Sammy. - I didnt think Bong was that bad, just had Diakhaby in front of him who was not good . That terrible back pass was due to having no-one to pass too. - thought lolley had a good first half but faded 2nd half. Was pretty much playing on his own in attack though

Neither of the full backs were good enough, Bong didnt look anywhere near match fit.
Worst of the lot was Yates for me unfortunately. Did next to nothing apart from the odd 5 yard pass to Watson, spent most of the game running in circles. Really needs to up his game when given a chance like this.

Too much criticism of Sabri, blame lies at the doors of recruitment who haven't give him enough quality in depth to cycle players as you need to.
No point us putting the strongest 11 out every week when doing so won't get us to the autos anyway because our lack of creative quality. All that will happen is we wear the team out for the playoffs. |
