Yesterday was shif but I cannot understand why people still keep bringing up Carvalho as some sort of saviour. He did f**k all for a whole calendar year now, apart from costing us over two million in installments... if he was brought in he would have been slaughtered as there was no chance for him to slot the famous through balls... Charlton packed their area nd we didnt had the player to run in a y sort of space, and let's face it, it's not as if Carvalho is famous for his 30 yard missiles from outside the box ...

I agree, he has been poor but when you are chasing a game you should be winning, mainly because of poor decision making by the manager, Carvalho 'could' deliver that one ball that might open the defence (although I doubt he would have) more so than Semedo who, if I'm being honest, I'm not sure what his role is or what he brings to the team

Slept on it but I don’t particularly feel any less disappointed. I thiink the frustration on here bolls down to 3 things:
1. The wasted opportunity to go 2nd.
2. The team selection from Sabri and squad rotation didnt work again and underestimated the opposition.
3. Our replacement players all performed worryingly poorly.

We just needed one bit of magic to steal a draw. Of all the players on the bench, he was the most capable of producing it, that's why people keep bringing him up here. If you are going to use a bunch of bit part players, then he is equal to any of them

We had a wonderful opportunity last night. We were on the crest of a wave after the Leeds win. Our 1st team would have blown Charlton away im sure. And even if they were jaded, they would've got the job done with a 1-0 im sure.
What the hell was the manager thinking? We now go into the West Brom game under a cloud. It wss a massively damaging defeat imo and it could so easily have been avoided.

Bong, Diakhaby and Jenk were just S$$T!! I'm shocked at how bad they are and they are some how calling themselves football players. I would cancel Diak's loan right now and sue Brigton for sending us Bong. Really have to question the Scouting team if they though these were football players.
Team had no shape, did not set themselves to press or to stop the ball. After i've slept on it and made comment last night i'm still in disbelieve on how bad our players were.

So disappointed last night and it was the managers fault but it shows our weakness in the transfer market.
You need signings that are likely to improve the team and what I saw were players who were out of their depth. Semedo is never going to score you a goal, the best option from the bench would have been Carvalho which shows how punchless we were.
Charlton had a proper striker who punished us. Can you see any of our recent signings doing that because I can’t.
You need players who know this division and are up for the fight.
Oh well let’s hope we can give WBA a proper game on Saturday.

Hard to get promotion when you sign absolute shit players like mir Diakhaby bong etc etc
Had a great chance in January and we pretty much downgraded.

I can't think of one single upgrade or equivalent. We have let go two decent DCMs where we are also lacking. If we stay injury free we might still contend but leadership need to consider poor recruitment as potential root cause if we fail to stay in contention.

I can understand why everyone is so disappointed, I was too, both when the team came out and during the match. Apart from Shef Wed that was easily our worse performance at home this season.
Too many changes. SL said that Grabban, Sow, Ameobi were due to injury (hence not making the bench). The big mistake was changing the 2 full backs, as both Jenkinson and Bong played terrible last night. If they ever want to play again they are going to have to change there attitude as they can't actually be that bad. Jenkinson was in the wrong position the whole game, and slow to get back, Bong was so rusty he could hardly control or pass the ball!
Having said that we had 3 very good chances, if these go in then we aren't complaining and calling SL a genius for resting players with big game coming up. We gambled last night and lost (same as Wigan and Millwall). Hopefully we won't look back at this game at the end of the season.
