It will be very difficult. Fulham, Brentford, Bristol City and Preston are all doing well and placed at the top of the form table as are Forest. Only Leeds and West Brom are showing a dip in form although West Brom have won the last 2 games and have possibly turned the corner. It will be a very interesting week with "must win" games for Forest against Charlton and West Brom. Leeds will face both Brentford and Bristol City. Fulham with probably the easiest games next week. A lot of twists and turns to come that's for sure. It is all about consistency now so let's start with back-to-back win against Charlton.

We have 15 games left, if we can win 10 of them, then we have a bloody good chance.

in theory 7 wins will give you top 6 and in the play off's

I've been trying to find a side-by-side list of the top 6's remaining games but without any luck.
I'm sure that most of us still have to play the others - in fact we might have the fewest games left against the other top 6 sides (or maybe the same as Leeds). We've got WBA on Saturday and that's the start of three tough games for them (us, Bristol City and Preston) and of course Brentford host Leeds tomorrow night. So many teams - even all the way down to the sheep - will still think they've got a chance of reaching the playoffs that there really will be no easy matches.

That's cool, thanks.
So here are the current top 6's remaining fixtures. Interestingly the sheep still have to play all of the top six, so they could play a part in who does and doesn't go up: 11/02 Brentford Leeds 11/02 Nott'm Forest Charlton 12/02 Millwall Fulham 12/02 Reading West Brom 12/02 Stoke Preston 15/02 West Brom Nott'm Forest 15/02 Birmingham Brentford 15/02 Fulham Barnsley 15/02 Leeds Bristol City 15/02 Preston Millwall 21/02 Derby Fulham 22/02 Brentford Blackburn 22/02 Bristol City West Brom 22/02 Leeds Reading 22/02 Nott'm Forest QPR 22/02 Preston Hull 25/02 Cardiff Nott'm Forest 25/02 Luton Brentford 25/02 West Brom Preston 26/02 Fulham Swansea 26/02 Middlesbrough Leeds 29/02 Hull Leeds 29/02 Cardiff Brentford 29/02 Fulham Preston 29/02 West Brom Wigan 02/03 Middlesbrough Nott'm Forest 06/03 Nott'm Forest Millwall 07/03 Bristol City Fulham 07/03 Brentford Sheff Wed 07/03 Leeds Huddersfield 07/03 Preston QPR 07/03 Swansea West Brom 13/03 Fulham Brentford 14/03 West Brom Birmingham 14/03 Luton Preston 14/03 Sheff Wed Nott'm Forest 15/03 Cardiff Leeds 17/03 Brentford West Brom 18/03 Leeds Fulham 18/03 Nott'm Forest Huddersfield 18/03 Preston Cardiff 21/03 Leeds Luton 21/03 Nott'm Forest Bristol City 21/03 Preston Derby 21/03 QPR Fulham 21/03 Reading Brentford 21/03 Sheff Wed West Brom 04/04 Derby Nott'm Forest 04/04 Blackburn Leeds 04/04 Brentford Wigan 04/04 Fulham Birmingham 04/04 Huddersfield Preston 04/04 West Brom Hull 10/04 Brentford Charlton 10/04 Leeds Stoke 10/04 Nott'm Forest Fulham 10/04 Sheff Wed Preston 10/04 West Brom Derby 13/04 Blackburn West Brom 13/04 Derby Brentford 13/04 Preston Nott'm Forest 13/04 Swansea Leeds 14/04 Fulham Cardiff 18/04 Brentford Preston 18/04 Leeds Barnsley 18/04 Nott'm Forest Swansea 18/04 West Brom Fulham 25/04 Derby Leeds 25/04 Barnsley Nott'm Forest 25/04 Fulham Sheff Wed 25/04 Huddersfield West Brom 25/04 Preston Birmingham 25/04 Stoke Brentford 02/05 Brentford Barnsley 02/05 Bristol City Preston 02/05 Leeds Charlton 02/05 Nott'm Forest Stoke 02/05 West Brom QPR 02/05 Wigan Fulham

I have to admit I have been very pessimistic about our chances of going. I also have to admit that I left very early from the home game v Sheffield Wednesday. On my way out of the ground I was laughing angrily at the thought of Forest achieving promotion. Apart from a few games, the performances have not matched points we’ve been taking but by God, we still keep taking them. As quickly as my dreams were in tatters after the Wednesday match they have reappeared as we continue to accumulate over recent games and leave ourselves in a wonderful position. All games count now but it’s so important we take all three points v Charlton. It’s a real banana skin after they ran us ragged in the first half down there. Sabri has a system and its working.
I’m daring to believe.

Personally I think we'll be in the battle but probably always just on the edge. 4 other good teams around us, will be difficult to not believe if we beat charlton and WBA.
More interesting is we've opened up an 8 point gap to 8th (only 4 to 7th). If we can just drop one more of the teams from 6-8th, we could have since cushion for playoffs. |
