Week after week he works his socks off. Ok , he’s missed a penalty, disappointing I know, but even Messi misses! but there are still 48 points to play for and I’m betting he will get us a bag full more.
Messi shouldn't be taking them either he has a terrible penalty conversion rate! Agreed but if the worlds best player misses then our humble championship striker is allowed..
can you imagine if someone else had take it and missed, we would all be asking why Grabbs didn’t take it.
Sorry but we wouldn't, no-one wants him to take them apart from him.
I'm not criticising him by the way, he's a top championship striker but he shouldn't be on pens full stop.

Agree Wassy his pens are dreadful even when he scores. If you want to check have a look at the 3 he has scored this season against Hull, Blackburn and Luton. Hull and Luton he put down the middle which I am never too keen on, the keeper just has to stand still to save it. Blackburn he placed nicely to the side but telegraphed where he was putting it and the keeper was very close to a save. In all cases his run up is so hesitant it seems obvious what he is going to do.
A strong manager wont let him take another, lets see what happens. None of that is in the slightest critical of the rest of Grabbans play, best striker we have had in years.

Yep ive noticed he's stuck quite a few down the middle this season. He can't just keep doing that or every one will be saved.
Re what others have said, yes every penaly taker misses one every now and then but over the last 2 years, his miss record is just terrible.
I'd take him off then. If he whinges about it I'd point out that he's not bigger than the team.

i think Grabban is generally improving, or maybe it has taken me a while to warm to him, ultimately i think your top striker should take the penalties, he just needs to improve, like many aspects of our team it's scaling the seeming brick walls. I wonder how much time he spends practicing, putting a few high into the top corners would be good, if the keeper knows he can do that it will give him an overwhelming edge, though ultimately with many weakness in the team play it is psychological and getting into the zone, this is probably what the team needs, a good psychologist, 'you know it's going in from the minute you hit it type feeling'. The next penalty will certainly be very interesting either way.

Yesterday I was saying to my son that Grabban shouldn't take penalties, his conversion rate isn't good enough.
His response was who else?
Surely they need to have a penalty session or two in training (if they don't already). Pick the person who is the best, maybe that is Grabban!?

Lolley is the obvious candidate, plus he took at least one last season and scored

A slow run up for a penalty is always more liable to miss . You need to run quick and hit it hard as you can in my opinion

He's got a problem now with pens IMO. Keepers will know he has hit a fair few down the middle this season. And they will have seen Camp make the save by delaying his dive as long as he delays.
I said last year I think his run-up is very readible - he arches his body as he tries to side foot the ball into the corner.
I also wonder if Sabri knows what his pen record is. I was utterly amazed to hear that MoN didnt know his record last year when he came in. Maybe Sabri's the same.

I think that's right but didn't he miss 4 pens last season?
That means he's missed 5 out of his last 10-12 pens.
