Not long back. Haven't read all the comments yet, but heard Sabris interview and he called it.
For 40 minutes we pulled them all over the place. Silva was having a great game, defence untroubled mostly, though Samba was having a strange game. The midfield were bossing the game, Yates winning every second ball and looking tidy and composed, Ameobi was looking really dangerous it seemed a 2nd was on it's way, then a superb move ended in a penalty- it should have been for handball but the ref seemed to blow up for a foul afterwards.
The game then flipped, poor pen, poor concentration, poor defending 1-1. Stupid, brain dead, call it what you want, but after this we still should have won. 2 more chances missed by Grabban, one by Juke for them. A couple of handball shouts for them and a decent save from Samba it felt like next goal wins.
At 1-1 Sabri rolled the dice, Yates was replaced by Semedo and the new guy came on for Sami. Suddenly Watson was having to put out fires, 2nd balls were being lost and we never really threatened.
Their winner was awful. It felt like Samba could have done more, Semedo certainly could.
Birmingham got the 3 points without having to do much other than turn up from 40 minutes on. This was even more frustrating than Reading away. 3 points lost through stupidity. Not sure if Yates is getting his usual stick as I haven't caught up yet, but he shouldn't. He was good and I am not convinced the second goal occurs if he was still on.

So very frustrating!
For some reason I feel as low after that one as I have all season.
I guess - because we were so much in control & with the opportunity to double our lead - I just see the promised land ebbing away yet again.
Regret that playoffs may be the best we can hope for - we just have to stay with Sabri & the boys.

Semedo offers nothing whatsoever as a sub. Diakhaby was trying to impress being greedy . We lacked dynamism today but cant do nothing about that now.

Regret that playoffs may be the best we can hope for - we just have to stay with Sabri & the boys. Thats just how im feeling. And lose to leeds and west brom, which we could easily do, and well be in a fight for 6th so even the play offs are by no means certain.

nicely put Zico, Yates won the penalty as well, his intuition in advanced offensive situations is very good, the subs didn't really do much for me, Cloughie would take a defender off and put an offensive player on, the new winger not ideal situation against a team that was sitting back, and not sure what Semedo does, Sammy Ammy did some good stuff
The penalty did look bad, the psyching out started, the keeper freaked first and dived and Grabban seemed to aim the ball at his hands, i know it all happens in a split second but that is how it seemed
This is what all championship sides have to deal with, though not usually us, as like many teams we have played, they play well do all the right things but get unlucky, lets face it we can only seem to win when we have convinced everyone we are 2nd best

The Championship is such a bizarre league, I try not to get to excited when we win, or too down when we lose.
Under Billy we drew lots of away games because we never tried to win them. Sabri usually gives it a go, which has reaped us 3 points this week. Parking Billy's bus may only have got us 2...

And Forest (Gypsy curse and all) once again gift the team the 'jump start' to their season. It's surreal how many times this happens to Forest.
Even a draw would have kept Forest within touch with Leeds i.e. 3 points. Beating them next week would have seen Forest level with them on points.
I don't think any match this season has been tossed away so convincingly as this one. They had this match in the palm of their hands. And they gifted it to Birmingham. Their fans even had the banners out as soon as Forest scored.
Lewis. Just bury the Penalty down the centre, mate. But no.
Watson giving the ref' ear ache after he'd awarded the penno'? YOu're just putting your own player off. Rookie error.
The Coach. You take Yates off and Forest sag again.
(Against Reading, he took Sow off for the 1st game and Forest, again, LOST their way.)
In the transfer window. We had one thing to guard against. Forest had one major dip in form when Sow was injured. Each time he's been in the side they have had winning runs a. To get into the top 6. b. To get back into the top 6 and within touching distance of the top 2.
This would have informed my transfer policy. Any permanent injury to Sow (he'll be back for Leeds, thank the footballing gods) and Forest will do well to hold the top 6. How do we know that?
Forest completely collapsed today without him. As soon as something didn't go their way they metalled collapsed. And didn't recover for the 2nd half.
The Coach shouldn't have taken Yates off. It indirectly led to the goal. Semedo and Bostock should have been ushered out of the club in favour of a single bit of DCM cover that could rival Sow's robustness. Because without him Forest are in trouble. And without Yates. We lose to Birmingham.
We gave a side that was shot of confidence belief.
After a good night's sleep I'll care less.
Sure, it's not disaster with Forest 4th. But whenever it matters Sow is injured (without sufficient cover to do what needs to be done there) or the Coach takes off what cover needs to be done there....or the cover we do have is deemed adequate by recruitment (did they get the memo about us being within touching distance of the auto spots and our best chance in ten years? Or twenty years more probably?)
I don't get paid lots of money to see the obvious. I wish I did. But anyone could see this coming. And fickle football goddess made us pay. It had to be Sow that was injured.
He's the talisman. I don't think the new players who came into the side today did all that bad. It was ok. But after Yates went off, Watson was left to fend for himself.
There's a bit of blame to go around for today's result. Though the players deserve their fair share of it.
7 games without a loss isn't bad coming off the back of a 'Sow-less' dry patch in December.
I heard the interview. The Coach seemed really annoyed. Frustrated. And we all know why.
We tossed the points away. It's kick up the backside that you can't take anyone for granted in this league. And the players and the Coach seemed to. From the sublime concentrations of Brentford to the right old hash of it vs crap Brum'.
Congrats to Silva on this 1st Forest goal.
