Season 2019/20 Can We Finally Go Up?

Forest are top of the form table (5 latest games) with 13 points. Next in that table are Millwall and Derby on 11 points. Leeds have 5 points and West Brom have 4 points. Forest have also scored the most goals with 10 (same as Brentford, Blackburn and Birmingham) and have the second best goal difference with +6 just behind Brentford with +7. All the signs are really good. This could really be the year. We do however need 2 or 3 quality additions.

To say these guys make a living commentating on the championship, it never ceases to amaze me how ill informed they are.

With only 18/19 games left you would think they would have considered us contenders for top six but no instead, it was how we have a tough run of fixtures and that we would drop out. We all know it’s a tough league and anything can happen but we are not the only team who has a tough run in and going into the final run in when teams are fighting for their championship survival anything can happen.

Much as i'm loving the positivity and that previously unknown winning feeling at a weekend, i think we are someway short of the prem and could end up doing a Derby if we went up.

We need some much in so many positions- which is testament to how well coached Sabri has got us.

That said, i wonder if Marinakis' cheque book and contact book could make the jump passable?

I actually thought Goodman was pretty fair after the game yesterday, and Lamouchi said pretty much the same in his post-match interview. We can play better than that - certainly better than the first 20 minutes - and we'll need to in the coming run of matches. However, I'd rather be approaching our run of matches in the form that we're in than Leeds' run of matches in their current form.

He gave too much emphasis to those first 20 mins though. Luton scored a pretty decent goal to be fair to them and set up in a way which we took a while to sort out. But we eventually did and got on top. 

When he said us, the fans, should be very encouraged to hear Sabri say we were shit, because its the truth, I turned his smug face off as I couldn't bear to listen to his shite any longer.

Completely different take on the gameto radio Nottingham who see us every week and can see what we're about much more clearly.

But Forest are playing in a 'certain' way with the players at their disposal. To the untutored eye it may seem bad at home at times...but Forest have only been together with 'The Coach' for 7-8 months. The teams above them in the table have been doing it for far longer and two of those with Premier resources behind them. Leeds are a year and 6 months ahead, Brentford have been doing their game plan for years and years.

Forest have only just, in relative terms, turned the taps on re: being run well on and off the pitch. And 'The Style of Play' of mastering the press and when to press surrenders % of possession for opportunity i.e. counter attacking. A philosophy, at least us Forest fans should get even if Sky pundits don't.

2 or three more quality players would allow Forest a bit more swagger...and then maybe 'outsiders' may finally 'get' what Forest are trying to achieve. Project Forest isn't finished yet. But it's showing promise.

Forest sitting 5th is no accident. It's no pure luck. They've had 'some' luck but they've made what 'luck' that came their way.

And they've orchestrated any bad luck they had vs Boro, WBA and Wigan, Millwall and Cardiff. (I guess you have some days where you shoot 100 times and no shot goes in.)

But if we look at the stats Forest haven't lost 'that' many'. They've had very few highs and few lows. If we want to get promoted, that's a decent platform to bring 3 quality players in.

We have a great opportunity but the current market is possibly the worst jan window in years for availability and competition for what we need.
