I though Silva was good today. Always showed, took the ball in awkward positions and under pressure and more often than not got out the tight positions and got the ball moving or won a free kick. He pressed well today as well and was part of why we started to pick more of the second ball up 2nd half and recycle possession far better and sustain attacks. A solid 7.5 for me today.

PsychoStanley made the case for Silva having a 9.  Fair points from him.  Sometimes players do 'unsung' work.  Maybe he's one of those.  He passed to Rib', for example' who delivered a good ball into Lolley for the goal?

I think, I'd have nudged Jock's 7.5 for Watson to an 8.  He was very robust in the lead up to the goal with 3 challenges to get the move going, and, dare I say it....is he becoming talismanic?

Interesting scores.  Rib' seemed to play well today.  Seems to have that touch of class.

Maybe that's the next stage of his development.  Composure for a silky finish.  He's been so 'very nearly' for a while on several occasions for 'nearly' goals.  A good save made by the Reading keeper to keep him out last game?  He's due a goal.

He seems to be working hard enough and he's a bit more wiry than Car' for example.

I'd still like a 'level up' ACM to come in, though.

I think Silva.  Nay, the whole team, mastering the press has been a work in progress.  Are Forest finally 'getting there' with The Coach's system?

It's taken Leeds a couple of seasons (sometimes with double sessions) to master their system.  Forest still have moments e.g. 1st 20 minutes where it's like 'they don't get it.'  And then they spark to life.

They'll probably stand more coaching, it's not even a whole year yet (do Forest Coaches get whole years?)  But perhaps a couple of players more suited to the system would help.

Eg.  Winger (pacey), ACM (more robust, guile and goal scoring finishing) and yes, a 'mix it up' striker.

Do we finally have our 'immense' battle general, long called for by me, Malta and others. An heir apparent to McKenna? We've been needing a 'General' for some time now. It's good to see Watson go beyond his years and legs to 'be born again.' I love redemptive stories. It's part of the magic of football. Watson, in danger of being a journeyman pro' is sparked back to life. To have him in midfield and Dawson at CH. That's the kind of experience you'd like to see leading Forest back to the promised land.

Fair play to Watson who has manned up after a difficult last season.  Credit to Watson and 'The Coach' who knows how to play him.  Some of those tackles today, 1, 2, 3 in a row to get Silva and the Rib' going for Lolley for the goal....?

not sure I entirely agree with that, we were far too exposed first half.

I can understand the frustration with the pressing style, especially at home and when you would want/expect the team to force the issue more, but Sabri has his style of play that he is sticking with, and I guess the proof is in the pudding. Luton worked hard in the first half and it showed with them picking so much of the 2nd ball up but they couldn’t do it all game. I think we closed the gaps better second half and won more of the 2nd ball and they never looked like getting anything from there. 

Can’t disagree with what you’re saying we need, would definitely give us more options and the ability to maybe mix it up a little more . It’s starting to feel like this could be our best chance in a long long time to get promoted, I hope the club back him and get him what’s required.
