Port Vale boss John Askey is hopeful Nottingham Forest will extend Jake Taylor’s loan deal at the club.

The 21-year-old joined the League Two side on a short-term loan deal in the summer which currently runs until January.

So far this season, the versatile midfielder has scored five goals and provided one assist for his Vale team mates in 17 appearances in all competitions.

His last outing saw the young midfielder score his side’s only goal in the Valiants’ 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe United.

Vale are hoping to persuade Forest to extend the loan until the end of the campaign but Askey says other clubs could take an interest.

"Hopefully. It will depend if anybody comes in for him,” Askey told Stoke-on-Trent Live, when asked if he hoped to keep told of Taylor for the remainder of the season.

Sounds like it’s not going well for Richardson at Exeter, he was in the U23s for them recently and on the bench for an FA Cup match.

We should recall Richardson from his loan spell at Exater and send him somewhere else where he is going to be playing regualalry. Only started 3 games for Exeter. It's not great for his development.

I am now convinced Tyler Walker should be recalled or at least be on a 24 hr call back. Keep him sharp and scoring until/if Grabban picks up a knock. Pointless coming back to sit on bench though I suppose.

I think that's a good shout, wassy04.  

Not sure what more Tyler has got to do.  He's scored a bucket load for Mansfield and Lincoln.  He's got a bit of pace and he knows where the onion bag is.  Trying to keep Grabban and Walker quiet would take some doing.  Tyler 'has' scored some goals in the Championship.  And that was when he was younger a slighter frame.

I'd recall him back.  Could he do any worse than Mir?

The romantic in me would like him to help Grabban lead the charge to the Premiership.

IF this was another club he was doing that for the fans would be calling for us to 'take a chance' in the transfer market on him.

Crickey.  I'm trying to imagine Tyler alongside Grabban.  You might be on to something...

As a third option behind a more 'emboldened' move in the January transfer market (we could do with a 'big lad' who can 'ed it and rough up defences...)

We're riding our luck depending on Grabban for a whole season on his own up front.  Form or injury is in the lap of the gods.
