Leicester, Wolves, Sheffield United and Burnley all currently in the top 7 of the PL.
And Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, Norwich, Southampton & Watford also in the prem. How many of those would the average fan consider to be bigger and better clubs than us, if we'd been run as well as they had over the last 10 years?
If we get up we certainly have the potential to stay up for a decent while.
Couldn't agree more fellas.
It sounds daft but staying up is the easy bit, actually getting up is the hard bit!

IMO Preston will drop off, Leeds aren't certainties by any means, but WBA will finish in the top 2.
I agree that getting up is the harder part. It relies way more on the top brass getting all the decisions aligned. This whole season will be for nothing if we add poorly or bottle it in Jan, like so many other seasons.

Well we’re generally available at 6/1 to go up which sounds only a touch high to me - suspect the general view on here is that we have a much better chance? Cue meltdown if we don’t.

We can get up. But at this stage so could 6-10 other sides. It's going to come down to who can hold their nerve, who cluck on the injury front and who strengthens effectively in January. There is very little in it and no one side that stands out as outstanding

Not just about having the most talented squad/best coach.
Would help if we:
stay reasonably injury free
sign our prime targets ( early ) in January
get a few pens ( Preston 8 Forest 0 thus far )
we can reach the promised land.

Would be nice if leeds/WBA would stop scoring last minute winners. We’ll struggle to catch up if they build a lead

There is that pattern every season (see Norwich and last minute winners....) where teams start to break away.
...and it's starting to look like it's Leeds and WBA.
Forest need to apply pressure over this next two month period. Both WBA and Leeds didn't have the fastest of starts. But they're starting to apply that consistency. (The losses to Wigan and Hull look like cheap points thrown away.)
Forest are still battling injuries and settling into their pattern of play and probably another January transfer window away from having the depth in one or two areas to being a solid top 2 side.
Need to beat QPR and win that game in hand to keep the pressure on.

SA. Lamouchi was trying to get the players to be positive and get the winner at Bristol even though down to 10 men. Shame Grabban's lob didn't go in.

I think they said on the sky commentary last night that the Leeds performance, i.e. getting a late winner in a tight away game when you've not played particularly well, are the ones that get you promoted.
As good and improved as we are this season, I just don't see that in our game at the moment.
The reading postponement has really set us back IMO. While we continue to still operate under the radar to a certain extent, if we don't get 3 points tonight, then the gap to the top 2 looks insurmountable IMO. If I'm feeling it, the players will be feeling it too. And confidence in the Leeds and West Brom players will be sky high.

Leeds have just had a really easy of games, and play Fulham, Preston, Brum, & WBA all in 12 days over Xmas.
I'll be very surprised if they start 2020 in the top 2.

Fingers crossed mate.
Wouldn't it be just great if we could just get a bit of luck for once.

Tharritwould mate.
We'll hopefully make our own luck in Jan though with the signings. Regardless of what other teams do, we're very fortunate in the fact that we've known what we need to complete the first team for some time now, and it's not a massive ask either like signing a 20+ goalscorer.
We've sold 11m worth of player, we've a player who cost 13m who should be worth a few quid if we're desperate, and we should be perfectly poised to capitalize on the progress already made this season.
But yep, luck always helps! :D
