Grabban's not an instinctive finisher either IMO, which is surprising considering how successful he's been in this league over the years.
If Grabban could finish like, say, Gayle does or Rhodes once did then he certainly wouldn't be playing for us in the 2nd division.
Anyway this is about Mir and the other Iberians, not Grabban. Excuse me.

I don’t want to stick the boot in, but he was poor. And that’s because he just isn’t very good. He could play better, but he isn’t of the quality that we need.
I really shake my head at some of our recruitment. Have we gone out and actually watched this guy? If so, that scout needs his P45 handed to him. Or was he foisted on us by this Mendes relationship?
I hope that that this is the last of some legacy recruitment, and with the recent appointments we’ll be actually watching players with trusted people. But it is a concern. I don’t talk with hindsight, some of our signings have been evidently bad decisions from day one.
My suspicion is that he was brought in with the expectation that there would be another more senior striker coming in as well to compliment Grabban. So he was in there to play as a third choice if he was needed.
I can see 2 new strikers coming in in Jan and Mir either returning to Wolves or being frozen out.

I am not saying this to say that Mir was the new Van Basten, but he did no worse then other players (and Grabban) in the same game and previous games. To target him as the worst striker that played for Forest is not fair ... he was a 5 from 10 ... but I remember strikers worth no more then 3 out of 10 ....and all is forgotten

Forest are going to need some recruitment in the striker position. It's very light up front. If Grabban gets injured we get a repeat of last season with no points over December. We'll be lucky to hang in the top 6.
The Wigan result is a painful reminder that you can't take things for granted in the Championship. Dawson out. Sow out. THere's half the spine of your team out injured. And Bostock and Figs weren't adequate cover. They couldn't 'do it' against a poor Wigan side who must have felt Santa had come to town. That said, they've hardly had a run in the team. Some players need that match time to build confidence. Is it Bostock's fault that Mir didn't put the ball in the net?
Forest had chances. Didn't take them. Wigan had 'a' real chance and put it in.
Grabban is like Forest's Andy Cole, he'll score but he seems to need lots of chances to do so. We need some real competition for his position to push him. I'd be happy with somebody like Gayle. He seems to be able to upset defences.

Currently in Portugal and met a big Benfica fan who seemed very knowledgeable about the game and has adopted us as his second team! Interesting insights into our Portuguesers. He said Semedo was the best of the bunch, rated him massively and couldn’t believe Benfica loaned him out. Said Ribeiro has loads of potential and expects him to be big in a year or two. Didn’t seem too convinced by Joao from what he had seen. Didn’t know much of Figs. Said Silva was excellent last season for a struggling team.
On the back of this, I’m hoping Semedo can come back strong from his injury, certainly looked like there was something very good there in his first few games.

Is he actually injured though? One or two rumours flying around that he isn't.

The rumour is that he has failed to settle in England, some have said that he may have perhaps gone back to Portugal.
I must stress that these are only rumours and if he did go back to Portugal he may well have returned to Nottingham again now.

He's entering his 2nd season. Heading into his 2nd winter in England. If he's not careful, it will be two years and we'll be asking what he's done for the best part of £13 million.
