Old Forest Chants & Songs

I can see the argument from both sides.

Just to put a couple of points across, I wonder how many of these people who have complained have been to Hooters for a prematch pint? That stinks of double standards.

Also girls who go on Hen Nights and especially when the stripper comes on. Have you heard some of the filth that comes out of their mouths in front of other pub users? Perhaps we should ban Hen Nights?

i am the middle aged bloke, i am meant to feel like a disgusting pervert, i see pretty girls and they feel sorry for me, they want to go into the charity shop and buy me a flasher mac and get me signed up to a subscription of wankfest weekly, i think there probably is a place in society for strippers and hookers.

But i confess to you, that F word in the song, even the T word, i never, ever say them, i feel awkard. For the record i wouldn't refer to a girl as 'skirt', maybe 'totty' only because it is a slightly funny word and would say it as a joke even though it could offend.

But i love the 'Oh Nottingham ..' song, i actually feel sad that it is being scrutinised. The fact is there probably is no such thing as 'harmless fun', i guess fun, the giggle involves a price, the pain?

The 'dated' argument, take out all the songs 20 years or older, what are we left with?

What about....to the tune of blowing bubbles...

I'm forever throwing bottles,
Pretty bottles in the air,
They fly so high, hit you in the eye,
Like West ham they fade and die,
Arsenals north banks running,
Chelsea shedders too,
Forest boys are running, running after you....
Nottingham, boot boys....

Remember it well....I think..

Wayne Rooney would certainly like it.

Bit late to the party on his debate but I’m confused as to how that chant is offensive at all? It’s really just a statement of fact. If the chant was c**k, balls and Forest, I wouldn’t be offended...

I feel like we need to stick to overruling the chants that are actually offensive like the Rooney one which is properly shit. Glad that got booed out.

On an unrelated note I was at the Bulgaria v England game in Sofia. I think football has a long way to go and worse issues. Booing the national anthem and adding “no surrender” in God Save The Queen and that was just the england fans!

We all agree
Grummitt is better than Yashin
Baker is better than Eusebio
And Arsenal are in for a thrashing

I would love to hear this lovely old ditty being sung from the crowd during cup matches again.

She wore, she wore, she wore a scarlet ribbon,
she wore a scarlet ribbon in the merry month of May
and when, I asked her why she wore that ribbon,
she said its for a Forest fan whose going to Wembley
WEMBLEY, WEMBLEY and we're all pissed up
and we're gonna win the cup
