Grabban holds a few aces though. How many other strikers are there with prem experience, record of scoring consistently over a number of years, reasonable age, reasonable (in this day and age) price. We dont have too many choices and he knows it.

Yeah I agree, almost certainly leaked by his agent to move the deal on. And I thought they had to sell before they buy. Brum’s owners sound a nightmare to be honest.

I wouldnt be unhappy if we walked away. My original point was Grabban can afford to wait for a better offer if he wants to, clubs will panic as deadline approaches.

I've a feeling we could end up with Oliveira.
Rotherham still sniffing around some of our younger players I hear. They are also trying for Sean raggett of Norwich on loan who played with Lincoln in their cup run.

Tried to copy and paste from his stats, doesnt seem to work on ipad.
He looks to have scored consistently for last 6 seasons except for his time in prem when he didnt score at all.

The problem with the argument that he cannot do it in the premier league and that's what we should be looking for is that if he could do it in the premier league then we would stand no chance of signing him.
Grabban is like vydra, Bamford etc. They are good championship strikers who will get goals at this level but are not good enough for PL.
The only way we get a PL quality striker is if we take a gamble on either someone young and unproven like Marriott who might prove himself good enough or go to the foreign market. In both cases we might get a collymore or we might get a silenzi.
Grabban for where we are and where we want to go is perfect - should score goals and help us get promoted. Once promoted we can look for better and i:'m sure we can sell him on to another championship side that needs goals if necessary.

I think he is certainly the best value for money striker out there and a proven championship goal scorer which is exactly what we need at the moment
