Yes, looking at those fixtures that are coming up many will be games that we are expected to win, different kettle of fish to Leeds, Fulham and Swansea away.

Last season in the corresponding games we got 12 points from these 7 matches (substituting Barnsleys result for Rotherham as L1). We generally struggled against the lesser teams last year, I reckon anything above 14 points would be a very good return.

I’m pretty sure it was our owner who said about mentality of the team and being able to beat the top teams which meant you should beat the lower teams.
These run of games is why we changed manager and will be the ones that decide if the manager is right for the club.

Logically we should be better but the proof will be in the pudding.

It is important not to look at results in isolation I suppose. The first set of fixtures were really tough and I’d give us a 7.5/10 for results and 7/10 for the performances. Swansea will be tough as they are riding high at the minute and have a bit of momentum. Beating Leeds was a great result for them and they have some quality in attack. I’m predicting a solid performance but a defeat unfortunately. Then we have some very winnable fixtures coming up that I would like to see us really put a run of results together. Wins are important as BCFC for example are above us but I’d say the way we dismantled them at our place says we are a much better team. After 12-16 games we will have an idea but I’m hoping for a top 6 finish this year.

I think we're looking better and more equipped than last season and if we can avoid shooting ourselves in the foot mid-season then we have a chance to get say 10 more points than we did last year. That should get us into the top 6 this time around. But, are we better than Leeds, Cardiff, West Brom, Fulham and now Swansea? I suspect not, at least not yet.

I'd say we've now drawn level with the sheep, Boro, Bristol as a club who'd be happy to get 6th place, so if we got to the play-offs, we'd probably be considered an easy draw.
