On yesterdays showing i totally disagree

Yes. ridiculous comment.

We still have Jenkinson, Chema, Bostock and Carvalho to come into the team yet and some people think that our squad is weaker  :)

Just yesterday proved we are a lot stronger, Amoebi will be starting soon enough, Albert did very little.

Hmm I’ve pulled off the two squads from last season and looking at this season I may have to change my mind about saying we are weaker.

GK 18/19
Costel Pantilimon
Stephen Henderson - Gone
Luke Steele - Gone
Jordan Smith

GK 19/20
Brice Samba .Goalkeeper - Added
Arijanet Murić Goalkeeper - Added
Jordan Smith Goalkeeper
Costel Pantilimon Goalkeeper – Expected to leave

I would say that does actually look like we have strengthen I mean we have really replaced two non first team GK for two that going to fight for the one stop along side the number 1 from last year.

DC 18/19
Joe Worrall
Molla Wagué - Gone
Michael Hefele
Tobias Figueiredo
Michael Dawson
Yohan Benalouane
Alexander Milosevic
Anel Ahmedhodzic - Gone
Danny Fox - Gone

DC 19/20
Joe Worrall Centre-Back
Tobias Figueiredo Centre-Back
Alexander Milosevic Centre-Back
Yohan Benalouane Centre-Back
Michael Dawson Centre-Back
Chema Rodriguez Centre-Back - Added
Michael Hefele Centre-Back – Expected to leave

Defiantly not weaker as those who left weren’t that great and not really first choice as it is

DL 18/19
Jack Robinson

DL 19/20
Jack Robinson Left-Back
Yuri Ribeiro Left-Back - Added

Stronger as added to this position so we have options

DR 18/19
Sam Byram - Gone
Saidy Janko - Gone
Tendayi Darikwa

DR 19/20
Carl Jenkinson Right-Back - Added
Matty Cash Right-back
Tendayi Darikwa Right-Back – Injured (possible out for season)

No loss in the DR department as we brought is quality with Carl and so far Cash has shown he is actually pretty good DR

DMC 18/19
Pelé - Gone
Jack Colback - Gone
Claudio Yacob
Panagiotis Tachtsidis - Gone
Liam Bridcutt
Ben Watson
Jorge Grant – Gone

DMC 19/20
Alfa Semedo Defensive Midfield - Added
Samba Sow Defensive Midfield - Added
John Bostock Defensive Midfield - Added
Ben Watson Defensive Midfield
Claudio Yacob Defensive Midfield – Expected to leave
Liam Bridcutt Defensive Midfield – Expected to leave

Colback was of course a big loss in my view however Semedo looks some hell of a player and Sow in a very brief cameo looks ok and prob same level as Pele? Bostock I’m excited to see if he can live up to his billing as a deep laying play maker. Lost 4 two of which never played for us really and brought 3 in who all can play a part.

AMC/MC 18/19
Ryan Yates
Matty Cash – Moved to DR
Ben Osborn - Gone
João Carvalho
El Arbi Hillel Soudani - Gone
Zach Clough
Adlène Guédioura

AMC/MC 19/20
Ryan Yates Central Midfield - Injured
João Carvalho Attacking Midfield
Tiago Silva Attacking Midfield - Added
Brennan Johnson Attacking Midfield
Zach Clough Central Midfield – Expected to leave
Adlène Guédioura Central Midfield – Expected to leave

This is prob the area we may have and I say may have weaken ourselves in with depth with both Ozzy and Soudani leaving us. However Soudani never really played for us so how can he be a loss if we never saw him and Ozzy couldn’t hold down a position. We added Silva who seems to be wanting to get involved and doesn’t give up at all. I wonder what he will be like when we pass the ball to him when he hasn’t got a few players on him.

Wingers 18/19
Diogo Gonçalves - Gone
Jamie Ward - Gone
Gil Dias - Gone
Gboly Ariyibi
Joe Lolley
Arvin Appiah

Winger 19/20
Joe Lolley Winger
Arvin Appiah Winger
Albert Adomah Winger
Sammy Ameobi Winger
Gboly Ariyibi Winger – Expected to leave

New faces but still relying totally on Lolley. Fingers cross Sammy stuffs my player review of him down my throat and he continue where he left off after Leeds. But I do also remember Dias being fast direct and looking like one hell of a player after the first few games.

Centre Forward 18/19
Léo Bonatini - Gone
Karim Ansarifard - Gone
Lewis Grabban
Daryl Murphy
Apostolos Vellios - Gone
Jason Cummings
Tyler Walker – Loaned out

Centre Forward 19/20
Lewis Grabban Centre-Forward
Rafa Mir Centre-Forward
Daryl Murphy Centre-Forward – To leave
Jason Cummings Centre-Forward – To leave

Maybe low in numbers but quality wise are we any worse nope we are not. Just lack depth as we have the main goal scorer still and a better level of first choice replacement.

Spot on Mcforest, exactly how I read it. We definitely are not weaker, may be marginally stronger in a few areas eg wingers, not sure we have truly stand out performers. It will all be about how it all fits together and can Sabri build a team out of what he has.

I wanted to vote don't know and probably still do. Squad is definitely bigger in most areas, but stronger or weaker remains to be seen. In terms of what we have seen so far:
GK - So far weaker, hopefully picks up.
RB - So far surprisingly as out of position - Stronger
LB - Same player, although not yet up to standards set last season - same
CB - So far been (imho) outstanding, with lots of back up available - Stronger
DCM - Although Watson has been very good, Colback was better - Weaker.
CM - tough one, Pele on debut was unreal, others who played there did well, Yates started superbly, Osborne not as effective last season, but clearly a very good player. Currenctly our No10 role looks a different role away from home. Semedo so far looks exellent, Silva still finding his feet. Sow only had 20 odd minutes. Although jury is out, I think I have to say stronger but whilst touching wood.
Wide players: Based on this time last year I would have said weaker as Dias looked decent early doors, but Adomah is good for balance and Ameobi is 25 yrs old with hell of alot of talent, skill, pace and power. If he can be consistent his career could really take off with us. So I am going to say marginally stronger, again whilst touching wood.
Centre Forward: Same player, same quality. However off bench this time last year Soudani was a real impact sub. Murphy did a job too. So weaker.
It's either end of the pitch where it matters and where I hope Muric picks up as in both league games he has looked a bit shaky and up front if Grabban is out for a long time we have unknown quantities.

^agree with all of that, hence why I didn’t vote.

If Murphy, Cummings and / or Walker were still involved then i’d say stronger.

Just my opinion but I can't see how they would make us stronger because they would never play.

I would prefer to choose from Grabban, Mir, Lolley and Ameobi than from Grabban, Murphy, Cummings and Walker.

Murphy might add depth to the forward dept, but Cummings is a bad influence and Walker isn’t good enough. I’d rather we stuck with what we have.

In this setup the striker tends to play back to goal or attacking crosses. I don’t think Ameobi suits that at all and it would be a terrible way to deploy Lolley, in my opinion.

Still waiting to see what Mir offers.

We can adjust the way we play if needs be. I am sure that in training they work on different formations and different styles of play. Lolley or Ameobi can do a job up top if required.
