Well that is even better news. I hope so.

Yates needs to go out on loan as soon as he’s fit enough, no where near up to the standard we require.

LOL There was a poll?
I just plumped for stronger.

1. The core has played with each other for a year.
2. We have two recognized LB's
3. Silva and Semedo are upgrades on Gueddy and Bridcutt (who we still have).
4. We are starting the season with Milo and Benaloune.

We are weaker at CF but the window is still open.
Jury is out on the keepers, we will only know when we see Brice play but so far I'd rather have Pants than Muric.

I have opted for weaker because of the following reasons.

Firstly and main one there was no option for don't know yet

8 new players in with most never sampling the championship so will take a good while before they get to grips with it.

Goalkeepers are very questionable if improvement – Samba needs to be seen before I can make any judgment.

Defence – was weaker as it was the same minus Byram – Jenkinson had not joined at time of vote. So now, it has stayed the same.

Colback, Pele, Soudani and Ozzy gone and replaced with Semedo, Silva and Sow who so far are not any better -weaker

Watson has become our best DMC (although he has played well and deserves to be there over others. However the fact he is now showing as the best we have then what does that say about our new players)- Weaker

Still got Lolley and carv – stayed the same (not that isn’t good business BTW but it’s not making us stronger)

Ameobi – Weaker than both Gonçalves and Dias which is saying something

Adomah – Experienced yes but does he really make us stronger? Might do but has no intention of tracking back when we do not have the ball and can easily see Cash becoming the preferred choice again because of work rate.

Grabban – main striker so not got stronger for starting 11 but Mir looks like an improvement for our second striker.

See it all depends on what you class as stronger and if you’re looking at it right now or down the line because the down the line in the unknown the players may well improve they might do this and do that but right in the here and now we are not a stronger team.

In fairness the poll was done a few weeks ago.

Feels like another one tomorrow may come up with more positive results

It's still open and people are still voting although I appreciate you can only vote once. It was only done a few days ago not weeks.

Colback is a massive miss.

The frontline is very thin & very reliant on a Grabban + Carva partnership. Ansarifard may not have been great last year, but he's a better striking option than Ameobi. Mir might come good, looked decent Sat, but he's only replacing Murphs who's now been told he can leave, and will likely go on loan this next week to a lower league side.

I also feel Osborn's contribution was underated, esp at LWB, and will be a bigger miss than folk anticipate.

For me we have to hold our nerve for a month or so whilst things gel, then Maybe Mouch can conjour up a team which negates such misses.

yes, ok, we have 35 ish squad players, which could make 3 potential starting 11's but even then, the best starting 11 today will probably inspire less confidence than this time last year

but then I guess I over valued the quality of this time last year, some of the players who came in didn't even get to start a game and some got injured very early on

hoping and happy to be proved completely wrong

We need to keep hold of Appiah. If Lolley needs to move into a central position to cover for Grabban and Mir then he will be needed out wide.
