Season 2019/20 Can We Finally Go Up?

Last year I thought it was going to be our. Season coming I have not seen anything at the end of the season which makes me think it will be our year. But a good transfer window who knows.

You always hope it'll be a rock solid season and we can fight for the autos and i suppose a 9th place finish is a big improvement on recent seasons.
However i can't help but think that we'll somehow contrive to f**k things up even if we are in the mix .

Since the jury is still out ( for me at least ) re MoN my concern re the type of signing he is planning must be a worry. Does he have the confidence in our ‘flair’ players to withstand bids if ( when in the case of Joe ) they come in for Grabban, Carvalho, Lolley et al. We’ll see.

I have gone on record numerous times with my belief that MON will improve us again next season quite significantly. As we finished a very respectable 9th, that will mean top .

As always luck will play a part, not so much with refs as on balance we did lose a few more points than we gained through poor reffing. but not that many-albeit we had an awful spell of crucial decisions go against us., but injuries have often derailed us in the past. We need cover at LB, Robinson was an excellent signing but was a gamble having started just 36 games in 4 years for QPR. Daws, Figgy, Grabs and all our back up strikers except Murphy were injured at crucial times. Plus Byram being out but us as he is class.

We will keep the winning streak going and March to the prem. I may be a bit influenced by the fact I am in process of returning to Notts after a long absence no more 400 mile round trip for a home game. A 30 minute stroll or 5 minute drive only.

Suspensions are generally shorter term than injuries, though sorting out the disciplinary record has to be a priority, more for the games we lose points in because of red cards, than the suspensions. Reading and Villa spring to mind. Sure there are more though.

In Colbacks final suspension we took 9 points out of 9......though I would have him back in a heart beat of course.

Better discipline and  better away form are a must if we want to go up.
