Jack Colback

So, 7 games left and Colback is likely to miss 3 of them now that he is one card away from 15 yellow cards.

FIFTEEN! I am sorry but that is not good enough.

Agreed. He needs to sort his discipline out if we're to sign him permanently. Wouldn't want to spend a fee and big wages on someone who misses lots of games due to suspension.

Aye.

It's the unnecessary nature of some of them.

Do bans run on into the play off games? If they do he needs to get booked at the right time.

Yes, until the end of the season. I doubt Colback can go 3 games without being booked let alone 7 though.

To be fair, the DCM area of the team should be picking up bookings.  It means they are doing their job.

However, maybe a handful of Colback's bookings are born of frustration or silly bookings the team could do well without and I think MoN made that point about Colback when he picked up that 89th/90th minute booking against Stoke, was it?

Now and again you take 'one' for the team.  But the yellow yesterday seemed born of frustration.

Need to keep discipline (and we seem to be doing much better overall in this regard...) so not to harm our play off chances.

His yellow cards per appearances this season suggests that you are right.

No.  We remember Nickey Shorey?  We were 'good enough' for a while but there was always the 'air' about him that he'd be off if something better came along.  And it cost us promotion that season.

Similarly.  If he can't commit?  Drop kick him and pick somebody up for far cheaper who can.

Forest need to be ruthless with their Summer work.  Mcginness schooled him when Villa came to the City Ground.  It's not the first time he's been done.

And yes, he's my player of the season.  But he's not the only CM in the universe.

SA.

Contradictory points here surely, we didn’t sign shorey and it cost us. So do we want to make the same mistake again?!

Should we start him tomorrow then.

Yes or No?  Two very tough away games coming up against both Sheffield clubs.

It's an interesting dilema.

Do we play Colback tomorrow and risk him picking up that 15th booking. Or try to 'protect' him for the Sheffield games.

If it was me I would leave him out tomorrow.

Save him for the Sheffield games. He’s let us down.
