Is Promotion Still Possible?
Still only 3pts away.

Possible if not probable.

We need to win 6 or 7 from 9. Not happening. Poor tonight. Lopsided with lolley overloading left hand side giving Taylor oceans of space. Rare mistake from Colback and 2 poorgoals from goalkeeping view. Our equaliser was a slight push but aren’t we due a bit of luck from decisions? Mike dean a complete and utter idiot who loves being the villain and then acts up to it - not dealing with the gamesmanship and actually encourages it.

We have to win our next 2. Ipswich are much improved and playing with a bit of freedom. Not the given everyone is thinking.

It is amazing that we are still only 3 points off when we can't put consecutive wins together.

However, Villa and Sheffield Wednesday are bang in form and have the momentum.

Hand on heart, I think we will fall short.

So do I. My only hope now is we go on a winning run right at the end of the season and win 5 on the bounce and nick it on the last day.

We need Grabban back for that though. We've got nothing attack wise without him.

Possible.  Very.  We can't discount MoN treading water with what we have.  But we need players like Grabban, Robinson, Cash to be fit and available.  We don't have the depth NOT to have them and be top 6 as last night proved.

Probable.  The vibe seems to be Villa and Wednesday could sneak in leaving us where we are...  Wednesday have the Bruce factor.  Villa have their spending and Abraham.  (A player we could have done with getting...)

But if you can't win two games in a row...

We'd have to draw one and win one. :P  For the play offs...

In that context, you make a sound point, Duncan.  Forest, who can't put consecutive wins together our, amazingly, 3 points off.

Villa and Wednesday.  I can see them replacing Derby/City/Boro to be honest.

We are definitely short without Grabban, Robinson and Cash.  We just don't have the depth to 'deal with it.'

The results vs Stoke and Villa show us just a bit short of depth and overall class.

But it's not over.

"Not yet."

teams above us failed week after week and we failed to capitalize. We keep saying that we are 2 points or 3 points from 6th, the truth is that its not just that are in the same situation. I think we are the only team, in the top 10 that never put a run of there or four wins on the troth. On the other hand, we never went on a losing streak for a number of weeks, thus compensating a bit to a non consecutive win streak.
Games are running out now, I think we have been given enough chances to claw back a top six place and stay there, we are not capable of doing.
I still keep think of our play off season under Billy, when we trailed Leeds in 6th for a number of weeks, and eventually we overtook them, if not on the last day maybe only a couple of weeks earlier.
The problem this year is that its not just us chasing 6th (and 5th) but another four team. Losing yesterday was costly, if we had to lose a game, it was better losing against Ipswich (as they are not a direct contender)...yesterday was a six pointer...

Yeah.  We've had chance after chance.  And we just don't seem to have it.

Villa and Wednesday are moving up.  Preston aren't far away.  It's closing up and we can't take advantage of it.

Let's hope for a win vs Ipswich and teams around us 'choke.'  It is the Championship and anything can happen.  But just you watch sodding Bruce get Wed' into the play offs...

And let's face it.  A lot of teams have been choking.

anyway, thanks to enthusiasm, belief and in my case, allegedly deludedment, I've found the dates that we will be playing in the play offs and after that our trip to Wembley for the first time in 27 (plus) years

19 April Sheffield United v Nottingham Forest 12.30 this is on Sky, if the blades have any players as ugly or uglier than Keogh, avoid HD, it isn't pretty

Last Day of the Season Championship Final Day – Sunday 5 May 2019 (12:30pm kick-off) .. Bolton hopefully totally dead and players still not paid

Don't think the Play Offs dates have been published yet probably 11th or 12th of May, then 2nd leg .. not sure

Championship Play-Off Final – Monday 27 May 2019

I’m a realist after watching Villa the other night they are a stronger team.

We just aren’t ready yet, our only decent striker has a long term injury problem, every opportunity we have had to move into the play off places we have bottled, and we are inconsistent.

It’s a miracle really we are where we are in the league.

Im not down about it at all, this season has been a massive learning curve for everyone. Including the fans who I must say has risen to the challenge, next season the atmosphere will only get better. I’m forgetting about promotion this season just looking forward to next season.
