Folk also need to bear in mind there is often an order to transfers and many targets for clubs our size dependant upon what the bigger clubs do. For example I’ve seen questions as to why if we are paying £45m for Delap we didn’t just do that at the start of the window. Totally ignoring the fact that whilst Chelsea may want to sell him, they’ll have wanted to do the majority of their business and finalise their squad first.
