As things stand, we will not get more then 5 million ...for both ....Grabban is an injury prone striker aged 30, so forget how much we paid for him, its how much will he contribute to the prospective buyer ...and the young prortugese ...enough was said about him... no  one will give us more then 2 million for him, maybe there will be some good add ons and sell out clauses attached with him, but these are not of use to MON, as this is money with MIGHT come in the future and not in the summer when he needs to rebuild the team...

I'd keep Grabban. He's a great goalscorer and at his age getting 6m for him would be a big ask.

But if we could recoup anywhere near the 13m we spent on Carvalho I'd happily sell. I'm happy to see him stay too, but 13m could buy us Olivera + a winger, and have a lot left to spare.

So long as MON get the money he needs to strengthen the squad that's the main thing.

Whatever happens I don't want to see Lolley or Yates sold though.

The accounts are OK & we have a stack of dead wood to sell

I would think they are red line players for Martin, sell them & there would be wars in the boardroom, a bit like when I sold a girlfriends shoe collection to make room to store my back copies of Razzle in the bottom of her wardrobe

I'm not sure why she got so upset about it, women can be so emotional

If we get half of what we paid for both...I'll vouch that MoN/Keane (judging from the January business) could kit out an entire team and with some extra depth for that kind of money.

Re: Robinson, Lolley etc.  It's how you spend it.  The bargains are there.

We should try scouting...seems to work for Brentford...or whatever it is that they do...or the other teams that don't have £25 million to spend...

Always makes me chuckle that AK got so highly praised for "clearing out the deadwood". In reality his tneure has landed us with a shed load of players who IMO won't be up to being first team regulars in a promotion push next season:

There are heaps of bargains out there & the best way to find them is to scout them & to maximise success rate you need to scout them properly, off field & on, to make sure you've not just got the right player but also the right man.

Before we signed Kenny Burns our very own Meadows boy Peter Taylor dinner a flat cap, with peak pulled down low, turned up the collar of his raincoat & went off to the dog racing in Birmingham to follow Kenny around & to see exactly how much of his wages he was dropping on the dogs & to see how much he was drinking at night.

That's why the ridiculous gamble of Kenny Burns worked & why he went on to win 2 European cups & get crowned as the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.

It's because they'd scouted him inside & out & knew him better than he knew himself, so it wasn't a gamble, they knew he'd fit in & work.

Build the network up again, send the scouts out & they will find you your bargains, players that will work, for a price you can afford.

That's how to do recruitment.
