Think its cultural, no other country behaves like that, some do on occasion but Argentina seem to do it constantly and to every other team. The stupid thing is if they try to play they can be superb.

I didn't watch it live but what caused the brawling at the end, and I've seen suggestion Argentina players had their backs to Spain when they were lifting the trophy.

UEFA need to grow a pair and walk away from FIFA.
The moment the Americans begin to become involved in sport, it goes to shit.

Its no coincidence that the last world cups have been held in Russia, Qatar and Trump's USA. It's going to Spain/Moroco/Portugal next but with some kind of fudge where there are games being held also in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay. And in 2034 its going to Saudi Arabia.
If that list of countries doesn't demonstrate that the venue selection is corrupt beyond belief then I don't know what would. FIFA just chase the money, or the corruption, or both. If the UEFA associations left FIFA, it would collapse and we'd get a new governing body who could re-set the entire thing, f**k Saudi Arabia off and give it to a real footballing country who is passionate about the game, not the money involved.

That fudge is being done with the sole purpose of making 2034 happen in Saudi Arabia. Otherwise in the continental rotation it would be either South America or Africa's turn again.

The wealthy sponsors of the the World Cup wont want to know if the big European nations have boycotted. It'd just be another copa america or africans nations cup type affair - both mildly interesting but not the world showcase that the world cup is. If there's no money, there's no world cup. I'm all for opening up the tournament to more teams to make it more inclusive, but selling off the rights to commercial entities will harm it permanently and we'll end up where all american owned sports are, commercial money making vehicles that have been taken away from the real fans and given to venture capitalists, hedge funds and billionaires.

It ridiculous that, having actually invented the game, the tournament has only been held in England once, 60 years ago, when it's also been to Korea, Qatar and the USA twice.

Won't be held here while Infantino is in control as we won't line his pockets.

One unexpected side effect of opening it up to more teams (which I am in favour off.. more games) is there is no "Group of Death" anymore. That was fun.

We have to make sure we don't crush the smaller footballing nations (who would really benefit in participating) just because we think playing those lesser sides is below us. I wouldn't be advocating The Faroe islands, or San Mario being able to participate, but sides like (off the top of my head) New Zealand, Hungary and Scotland would all be worthy participants. |
