Slow and steady wins the race. England were absolutely kack in the last Euros and yet we still got to the final.
There are questions about the defence, but until it's tested by a top nation we won't know.

Have just got back from two weeks at the World Cup, visiting two countries and five cities, had a phenomenal time and got to see some great moments and meet lots of interesting people.
Only went to one England game, it was the worst of the six games we saw, I didn’t think we looked great to be honest and felt like people were overrating our performance against Croatia. I also managed to see ex Forest players: Elanga, Montiel, Mendes and Da Costa as well as Sabri’s last game in charge of Tunisia. The Azteca is incredible and the Mexican fans are brilliant whereas the game experience in the US stadiums is nowhere near as good. I do hope we don’t have another tournament there in my lifetime.

Can we sign this Paraguay keeper?

Nick Woltemade looks like a chump of a signing for Newcastle. They paid £69m for him! Missed a penalty last night for the germans.

Missed a penalty last night for the germans. We do like a big South American keeper. Germany got done by a poor VAR decision, actually the one thing VAR has done for the game is to reduce the feigning dives/injury in the area, the goalkeeper didn’t even appeal this. Woltemade was bad, for his pen it was so obvious where he was going to put the ball. Just seen the Morocco Netherlands shootout too, some awful pens in there but it was glorious chaos. Some very enjoyable games yesterday.

Assume you are referring to Brice? To be really pedantic I believe he comes from the republic of Congo not DR Congo which I assume confuses nearly everyone including those who live there. The capitals of Kinshasa and Brazzaville straddle the border anyway. There ends the geography lesson and my knowledge of it.

Every day's a school day. From Wikipedia: 'Because both newly independent nations adopted "Republic of the Congo" in 1960, the international community began distinguishing them by their capital cities (e.g., Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa). To avoid confusion, the larger Belgian territory officially changed its name to Zaire in 1971 before readopting the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1997'.
