I want to disagree here, because I do think Tyler can still make championship standard, but I didn't see that match, so I can't argue against what you saw & I think we've also both agreed previously that we'd like to see him do as well as he can, but we also both suspect that's away from here.

I'm actually annoyed at how many of our players are not being used, or if when, often not for 90 minutes.
You only loan a player in, or out, when the parent club has no immediate use for them & requires them developed, if their young, or off the books & in the shop window.
Many of our loans are neither being developed, nor being made to look particularly attractive in the shop window.
I think the Mansfield "partnership" is working & I'd be happy to exploit that with future development loans, but beyond that I think we need to be a bit more thoughtful & creative about who we send where.
We need the right clubs, for the right players to ensure the right outcomes
Perhaps maximising our Academy talent for the 1st team and developing them on loan is an area the club can do better in as an area of growth.
Yates being as example, who, for me, was ready in pre-season. He, along with Geddy (before Colback signed) was leading the way in DCM alongside Geddy. Ahead of the more mixed performances of Ben and Liam.
Similarly, effective scouting, another area where the 3 Portuguese players were brought in...when battle ready wingers and ACMs were the order of the day...with pace, strength and guile. I've not sure those word would describe what Forest have had from the 3 Amigos. Certainly not in effective does and have gone completely missing in the muck and nettles 'business end' of the English winter.

I was going to make a joke about Alan Hardy but I am seriously concerned for him, it couldn't be much worse could it?
Also, these players go through the entire youth setup maybe for 8 or 10 years but then find they are unused subs at places like Oldham, it's not all glamour being a footballer is it? I guess many hundreds of young players find themselves out of contract and unwanted and looking for another career before they are 20

Nottingham Forest are a lucky club imo to have someone like Joe Worrall next season. He’s dedicated to his boyhood club and has shown some absolutely superb performances for Rangers. Easily our best centre half these past 2 months imo.

Amen to that. No substitute for a proper Academy and scouting network. Eg. Worrall, Yates, Osborns, Cash etc. They are grounded, cost 'nowt' and put a shift on. And Cash has scored a decent clutch of goals this season.
