Everton has been ordered to pay nearly £40m in compensation to Burnley for staying up that season they (and us) got deducted points:

No, it relates to 2021/2022 season where Everton breached and Burnley went down having got four points less than them. They was then deducted 10 points the season after which went down to 6 on appeal. Burnley's argument is if they were penalised in the season they breached, they may have stayed up.
Looking at our breach season 2022/2023, Everton were below us and breached again. Leicester could have gone above us on goal difference had our 4 points been taken off that season. But they breached also if memory serves me, but got away without a penalisation.

Mckenna leaving Ipswich. Thats then in a mess you would think. Slightly strange decision you wonder if theres more to it, could be there has been an Edu type figure disrupting things?
If that is the case then Mckenna has handled it with far more class and decorum than Nuno did.

He was reported as being Fulham’s top target and seemingly expected by the usual media bods to take the job. Yesterday’s news seems to have been a bit of a curveball. He may still end up at Fulham but given his reasoning for leaving (ie time away from management and spend time with family) and fsct Ipswich still have claim for compensation apparently if he does, then it seems less doubtful and wouldn’t be a good look if he did.

He left a decent job at Boro to go there and this is how they thank him. He improved them significantly. As outsiders we can see how poor they were before he arrived and just what a lost cause Wolves were last season. But then again the football commentariat were astounded when we sacked Dyche so maybe you have to look a little closer, or have a deeper understanding before passing judgement? |
