So if we struggle again next season you've got to say that's down to the way the club is being run, not coaches or players.

I think so. The players we brought in last summer would have had a season and pre-season to bed in and also we don't have the distraction of a European competition or the pre-season distraction of not knowing which European competition it's going to be.

And if you look at this season, even with all the issues and distractions we had, it would only have taken turning three or four defeats into wins to have had us mid-table and even challenging for Europe again.

I’ve got a feeling that we’re at a position where we can get into Europe every other season, barring Villa is and palace are gonna finish just outside the relegation spots and you assume those that make it to the same competitions will do the same so I expect no lower then a European space

Stability and a proper recruitment plan, executed as early as possible to enable the players to gel and get a pre-season.

Basically the opposite of this season!

As Chicago said earlier, now that the PL is allowed clubs to be self-intrested as of next season, think EM may well invest in a few really top class players it appears that its now all is in the open f**k the rest of the clubs look after number one!

I don't think we need a massive amount of recruitment. Some may be forced onto us if players leave etc but imo we don't need another summer of 15 new players coming in. It's counter productive.

I agree mate, it needs to be properly targeted not the shambles we had this year. I posted something where we went through how structured and organised recruitment had been last few years, we just need to get back to that.

What would peoples ideal pre-season opposition be? Were not the the kind of club that’s gone across the world to play Everton and Newcastle and Villa in a premier league tourni.

Also think having been in Europe we should be able to attract some top European teams for fixtures

Do we play Fulham in Spain again and get walloped do we go to germany this time who knows

Think we are heading off to Portugal again but no idea of the opposition at this point.

Whichever way it goes we need to get the managerial situation sorted ASAP. Can't be playing catch-up after a poor pre-season again.

I prefer it to be close by, not these jaunts off to a circus in the east or west.
